How do you level your turntable? I also use just a bubble level on the plinth, and double-check it on the platter.
avr receiver help Third the Harmon Kardon.
Compared tube preamps? Want remote & phonostage. I like the Audible Illusions, and I don't care for the Rogue. Haven't heard the other two. That's my two cents.
Ann Arbor, Michigan Blues Music & Record Stores Yeah, I checked out Overture Audio when I was there, and the guy in there was great, letting us listen to a couple of different systems that were already set up in there. I would recommend them highly to anyone living anywhere near there.
Ann Arbor, Michigan Blues Music & Record Stores I forgot about Encore, it did indeed have a much bigger selection, however, the prices were also quite a bit higher in general than at PJ's. I would check PJ's first, then head over to Encore.
Ann Arbor, Michigan Blues Music & Record Stores I was in Ann Arbor this summer and visited a great little record store called PJ's Records. It was in the second floor of a building near the U of M campus, I forget what street. He had alot of good jazz in particular, but also a fair amount of cl...
Rega P5 with Dynavector 10x5....ready to buy ??? Adam18 - I do like the sound of the PrimaLuna, and prefer it to the Rogue amps, which are a little too bright for my taste. And I like that you can run the Dialogue 2 in either ultralinear or triode mode at the touch of a button, that's a very nic...
Rega P5 with Dynavector 10x5....ready to buy ??? Adam18, I also have the separate TT-PSU, and my phono stage is the Bellari VP129. I use the PrimaLuna Dialogue 2 integrated amp, which drives my Klipsch Cornwall 2's. I also have the Rega Apollo CD player.
Suggestions on a Musical, Full Range Speaker You could always get yourself some corner horns, such as the Klipschorns.
Rega P5 with Dynavector 10x5....ready to buy ??? I really like my P5, jazz sounds fantastic on it. I have the Rega Exact 2 cartridge, you might consider that as you can get a discount on it from most dealers and retailers if you buy it with the table. I have not heard it with a different cartrid...
ProAc Studio vs. Dynaudio Focus I would recommend the Studio 140's, I almost bought a pair myself. I was not particularly enamored of the Dynaudios. I liked the soundstaging and imaging of the ProAc's much better. Depends on your tastes. I would certainly say the ProAcs are wort...
proac sound vs coincident sound I have not heard the Response 2.5. The Studio 140's do sound great on vocals. Either would work with any solid state amp, though I have not heard them with one. I prefer tubes myself, and they are efficient enough to be paired with most tube amps....
proac sound vs coincident sound The ProAcs are definitely not cold or bright, quite the opposite, especially when matched with tubes. I almost bought a pair of Studio 140's myself - nice sounding speakers. Not familiar with the Coincident speakers, so can't comment there.
Rega's T/T power supply: Is it worth the money? OK, so I am $75 off - it is still over half again the cost of the P5 w/ PSU. And if the P5 does not have the PSU, than the P7 is indeed almost double the cost, as I said originally. My main point, though, was that many, including myself, feel that...
Rega's T/T power supply: Is it worth the money? Piedpiper, last time I checked, the P7 without a cartridge was still at least $1000 more than the P5 (again without cartridge) plus the TTPSU, and that was before the dollar took such a beating recently. Regardless, it seems a pretty large consens... |
