Question: Sound Treatment behind the Listener?
Ozzy, you may want to measure your room. If you don't have any WAF considerations and can treat as you please I would measure.  My GIK rep had a great point which is that, although he rec that I measure my room to see what I'm working with - beca...
Question: Sound Treatment behind the Listener?
Thanks. Good info. I think you are mixing up me and the OP though, just fyi. My rear wall has 4 ASC sound planks on it directly behind my seat (6" apart) and is open on one side to the rest of the house and the other is curretnly (!) drywall. I'm ...
Question: Sound Treatment behind the Listener?
@charliech , do you think having Townshend Podiums would reduce the need for so much bass absorbsion? I still need to measure my room but when walk around the room I don't sense that much bass pretty much anywhere. That said, I still feel it in my...
Question: Sound Treatment behind the Listener?
Thanks Vinyl Shadow for the info. I'm getting some advice from GIK but also just started a dialogue with Jeff at HD Acoustics who I found when searching here. It won't be free but it will (should?) be unbiased and sounds like he knows what he is ...
Volti Experience !
Glad you are having such a great experience with your Razz! I'm 2 months in with my Rivals and feel the same - system has never sounded better. In fact, it sounds better than most of what I heard at the Tampa hifi show (not inlcuding most of the s...
Making speakers “disappear”…..
I’m still somewhat new to hifi - about 18 months in - but here is what I did after a ton of reading and watching a few youtube vids. This was with my old speakers which were Sapphire M3s - my new to me speakers, Rivals went into similar place but ...
Question: Sound Treatment behind the Listener?
That youtube vid posted earlier is excellent. I'm thinking about ordering  2D / GIK polys to put next to (new and larger) GIK 242 panels on my side walls.  I just need to take a smidge of treble energy out of the room - not much but some - well q...
Question: Sound Treatment behind the Listener?
Perfect, thanks. I'm thinking about moving my 242s to the rear wall but they don't have scatter plates - maybe I can buy those sep and then pull the staples out of the fabric and put those in and restaple. I'd probably make a big mess of things th...
Question: Sound Treatment behind the Listener?
Timely thread as I'm looking into this as well - absorbsion and/or deflection on the rear wall. @vinylshadow  , which GIK panels did you put up? Thanks.
Volti Experience !
Congratulations Doyle! Great write-up and agree Greg is great people (met him at the Tampa show). I just bought some used Rivals via Audiogon classified a few months ago (thanks Ken!) and am still completely blown away by these speakers - especial...
Modwright PH 9.0X Tube Rolling Question
Wanted to bump this for any new comments. Anyone try the Telefunken 6922? I bought Amperex gold 6922's about 18 months ago and my initial reaction was they were slightly more bright than the stock ones but kept them in to let them burn in and nev...
Experience with Townshend Seismic Podiums on Concrete Floor (they're great)
Hi @benzman , sorry but I forgot to update my Audiogon system in January when I sold the M3s and purchased Volti Rivals. I have updated my profile and w/ pics including the Podiums.  Still blown away by these! My system is very, very, close to be...
Experience with Townshend Seismic Podiums on Concrete Floor (they're great)
I received my Podiums late last week and could bump on any number of threads but this one is the most recent one I think. They actually were delivered with a very strong and unplesent smell which I can only guess was from the manufacturing process...
2023 Florida Audio Expo Show Report
I was only there about 5 hours on Saturday but @snapsc basically put my thoughts on the show into writing almost perfectly.  I was really amazed by the Apple Orchard / Soundfield Audio was the big surprise for me and one of the cheapest systems t...
What sound diff. can I expect from PrimaLuna EVO 400 pre and power amps VS an EVO400 int.
My phono stage is a Modwright 9.0x and I'm very happy with it.
