Can't tell,if my house is properly grounded I second Erik's suggestion of having a tech look at it. There is the possibility that a safety cap in the receptacle is leaking ac, especially the one from N to ground. If the fuse blew with that extension cord, it's possible you reversed polarity...
Can't tell,if my house is properly grounded Ok, I did everything everybody said, and there is no change buzz is still there.to answer a question from above I switched the room the phono pre was in and went from single ended to xlr because the tube amp doesn’t have xlr. I have had the same i...
Can't tell,if my house is properly grounded I will try removing the cables tonite. However the TT has no power and is not directly plugged into anything (VPI prime TT). The problem arose when I moved my TT setup to another room and switched to single ended output from the phono pre instead ...

Can't tell,if my house is properly grounded What TT are you using? Cartridge? I have a Dynavector 20x2L, and the cables are Cardas Clear Light. They have never given me trouble before. I don' t know if this matters but the noise is coming from both speakers, but I assume if one cable was ...
Can't tell,if my house is properly grounded i did try and the polarity reverse to no avail. I also tried a cheater plug, but since I didn't have one designed for that purpose on hand I used an old extension cord for 2 prong components. It had a little bump out on the end to block the ground...

Potting a Denon dl-103r Also, a "potted" cart has nothing to do with 'gluing" the body of the cart to the carrier. Can you please elaborate
Potting a Denon dl-103r Interesting. Ive read that potting it makes for better bass response. The fit is snug to the point where a bit of hard pressure is required for the last 1/16th of an inch when you insert it. What at would be the negatives for potting?
JC3+ Anyone? Hey Robert, sorry i I got to this post so late. I Owned a DV P75 Mk III and then moved up to the JC3+. I agree with your assessment of it. I have the VPI Prime with a Dynavctor 20x2 low output MC cart. Mind, I have Thiel speakers too and any thinne...

Adding mass to a tonearm Raul - I have two systems, my "fun" system which has the pioneer Pl-530, and what I consider my "high end" system which has my VPI Prime. I'm only talking about my The system that has the Pioneer, which has the Denon PL-103r. The only reason I w...
recommendations of phono preamps < $3000 range I too have the Parasound JC3+, I have nothing but good things to say about it. Very well built as well. Highs are smooth, midrange is liquid and lows are solid, deep and controlled.
Cartridge repair; re-tipping; canitlever replacement: The Needle Clinic A++ Heck, I nuded my Denon DL-103r being super careful. Got the thing to the point all I had to do was set it down to be done - then for no particular reason at all it just fell out of my hands somehow. It fell all of two inches but that's all it too... |
