Speakers For Rock
They were Linbrook floorstanders - beyond that I don't remember the model.
Speakers For Rock
Gotta agree with the Tyler Acoustics. I actually visited Ty to listen to their speakers in person. Playing Green Day's "American Idiot" through the Linbrooks just floored me. Hearing that piece through speakers this quick put a whole new and posit...
Why Don't More People Love Audio?
I've thought about this before too. Here are the reasons I came up with:1) The kind of music that favors high end, hifi gear is enjoyed by an ever more miniscule part of the population. People in the US just don't spend much time listening to Jazz...
Building a home theater.
I just purchased the Cary Silver Oak III's and center. They were created using a third order crossover which gives excellent off-axis (non sweetspot) listening. One other cool feature is the tweater is off to the side, so that if they're far apart...
Cary Silver Oaks speakers - anyone heard them yet?
Lots of help you all are! Well I guess they DID only start shipping a couple months ago. I just ordered a pair, so I guess I'll be telling you all about them after break-in.
Review: Hyperion HPS-938
Wow- excellent review! There was another rave review at stereo times of these. Just wish I could shake loose $5K at the moment. I guess I'll just have to enjoy them by proxy for awhile. Keep posting your impressions!
Narrowing down to JM Reynaud or VMPS...Help
I should have mentioned that even though I'm using an all Cary system, it's also all solid state. Basically home theater seperates that also sound great with 2 channel audio.
Narrowing down to JM Reynaud or VMPS...Help
What I guess I'm looking for is a speaker that will move some air and sound effortless in the larger room they're in now. My tradeoffs of choice are 1) prefer better bass to ultimate resolution, and smoother top end to same; 2) prefer warmer and e...
Narrowing down to JM Reynaud or VMPS...Help
I've heard good things about the Trentes, but as you say, the larger room probably needs floorstanders. In fact my current speakers are B&W 804's (matrix) which I never thought had a problem with room filling sound, but in their current placem...
Narrowing down to JM Reynaud or VMPS...Help
I thought about going to Tyler Acoustics, but someone here mentioned they were about a 4 hour drive from here. I'll have to look into it more..As to the Reynauds, does anyone here know if their floorstanders will be up to the demands of larger roo...
Smaller speaker - bigger Woofer?
I've always hated the sound of having the subwoofer dialed in over 60hz. Just gives an ugly bloat in the minds and messes up the sound across the spectrum. When I've had speakers with big bass drivers built in, they did a better job of recreating ...
Smaller speaker - bigger Woofer?
I don't know how diffrent the newer N804's are vs the Matrix 804's that I have, but I'm guessing it's not major bass difference. I'd love to hear the Gallo's if I could just find a dealer anywhere near me.I'll bet there's a market out there for a ...
Smaller speaker - bigger Woofer?
I'm actually demoing some Vandersteen 3A's in my home but find their bass output disappointing.
Smaller speaker - bigger Woofer?
I'm not necessarily talking about a tiny box, but something not over 48" tall.
Best AV Processor for 2 channel
In its price range the Cary Cinema 5 is an outstanding 2 channel or HT pre.
