Question on how DAC’s work...
jassman7,I just read your reply.  Are you saying if I connected my Bluesound Node 2i to an external DAC using digital coax, I could achieve complete unfold of MQA?  When I attached a ProJect S2 DAC to my Bluesound, the bass sounded thinner.  I thi...
Bass at your ears? (Bass imaging)
Meant to ask.  What do you mean by bass at your ears?  I thought you want to create distance and sound stage in order to visualize the artist playing between the speakers.  If you want bass at your ears buy a good pair of headphones and then good ...
Bass at your ears? (Bass imaging)
I like the way REL designed their high level connection.  They really act as an additional woofer and they are not detectable if you set them up right.  It is also important to play two instead of one for room balance and for staging.  All you wan...
Is it all worth it?
I cannot understand why anyone plays vinyl when there is streaming technology available?  No noise from the stylus tracking on a vinyl record.  With all the hi res recordings they have to sound better.  Unless, people love to hear the noise from p...
These seem a bit pricey $$$
What really astounds me is I receive real estate listings of homes in my area every day and after viewing about 400 homes, I have yet to see two speakers sitting in any room of a house.  They show pictures of expensive entertainment furniture with...
Question on how DAC’s work...
The way I understand things is if you attach an external DAC to a Bluesound Node 2i via digital COAX, you only get 1/10 the unfold of MQA.  Is there a better streamer than a Bluesound that can completely unfold MQA?  If so, which steamers sound si...
A secondary system to enjoy.
Why not install speakers in the ceiling throughout the house and attach them to an amplifier so you can hear music throughout your home?  Here is where a Bluesound comes in handy.
Why is There Not More Consolidation in Audio?
I think we are going to see many audio manufacturers go out of business due to the Corona Virus.  People are unemployed and they are going to choose to eat rather than buy stereo gear.  Hope this does not happen. This industry was barely alive befo...
what's your opinion on the magazine 'stereo review'??
I think most if not all stereo magazines are paid by the manufacturers to review their equipment based on how much money they give to the magazine or to the person writing the reviews.  They often will sell their gear at cost to the writer in orde...
Fairly new to streaming. Where to start?
Forgot to mention.  Hard wire CAT6.  Eliminates wireless streaming issues.  However, depends how far source is from you system.
Fairly new to streaming. Where to start?
I think you would be surprised by how nice the Bluesound Node 2i sounds.  I stream Tidal and I find MQA to have a noticeable difference in sound stage and presence.  The dealer talked me into adding a ProJect S2 DAC to the Bluesound connected with...
Subwoofer insight.
I researched both REL and Rythmic.  I think either one is a good choice, but I think the high level connection designed by REL is genius.  The high level connection allows the subwoofers to play more like woofers.  The key is calibrate then to not...
What should I choose??
Never been a fan of B&W's.  Where's the bass.  However, add a pair of REL subwoofers helps to fill in the bass.  I know I keep saying this, but I think the SALK speakers are the best I have heard under $60,000.  Jim Salk is incredibly knowledg...
So many drivers.....better sound or just more sound?
I would think too many drivers would affect bass response.  The real question to me is I purchased a pair of Paradigm towers which are 2 1/2 way.  Two weeks after I purchase them a friend sent me an article explaining way 3 way cross overs are bet...
Questions about using audiogon to sell 1st time
I had a good experience when selling my ProJect S2 DAC and Carbon Audioquest COAX cable.  However, these were both only 3 weeks old and I had to sell them for half price.  I learned a good lesson.  If you audition something to add to your system t...
