Any good experience in discovering new music via TV or movie recently ? Theme music from The News Room.
members and their systems I have wondered about this as well. There must be some extremely rich people in this group and some extremely understanding wives. I still have to answer to the gate keeper and I don’t want to take her on.
Why would anyone want class AB amp when class A always sounds better ? I like what ARCAM did with their AVR 850 with their class G technology. Great design. I would imagine the big concern would be the heat factor. AB is a good compromise.
Most rooms don’t need acoustical treatment. Delay, you know when your listening room is too cluttered when you have to ask where are the speakers.
Speaker Suggestions/Opinions Hilde5 I never heard of Fritz speakers. What do you think of the Focal 948 Aria’s? I like the detail but thought they lacked bass. I wonder what they would sound like with a pair of RELL S2’s? I have a pair of Paradigm Prestigue with a pair of...
Speaker Suggestions/Opinions I think you would like the SALK line. Very accurate sound with great drivers and cabinets.
Straight out of the box doesn't work. I can't believe people like fuzztone are allowed to participate in this group. This was a question from someone who just asked an honest question hoping to get answers from a group of experts.
"Real" streamer vs. Bluetooth adapter--what's the advantage? I like my BlueSound Node 2i. I like the way it interfaces with Tidal.
Spendor D9.2 vs. Harbeth super hl5 plus xd + REL Stentor III vs. Spendor Classic 100? I heard a pair of Spendor D9's at the RMAF two years ago with a friend of mine and they drove us out of the room within 2 minutes. We felt they were too bright. However, it could have been the amp driving them. That perhaps had a lot to do with...
Full circle and thinking about speakers I just Googled your speakers and they look like a bookshelf speaker built in a tower cabinet. Does the added space below the speakers serve to enhance the sound or are they designed to just look like tower speakers. I have not seen these before....
Check in: How quickly are streamers and servers evolving? Right now, I don't know why anyone would get off their chair to load a CD in the player? Especially when Tidal streams hi-res up to 24/196. I find it very convenient to sit down and select artists and albums with the touch of a finger. When I p...
Sota or Technics I would recommend upgrading your speakers to SALK Song3 Encore towers. However, they are $6,000 and well worth the cost difference. I met Jim Salk at the RMAF two years and I thought these sounded better than a pair of $60,000 speakers down the ...
Help my analog sound as good as my streaming There must be something about vinyl and I missed it. I had a Technique turntable back in the 70's and purchased a $300 cartridge. When I started buying $30 master recorded vinyl, I could really hear the difference. However, getting off the sofa...
Funny how streaming/digital still chases that analog benchmark. I can't understand why audiophiles spend so much money on a turn table, cartridge and vinyl? I hear often a lot of noise with the needle is tracking on a record. Andy, you have to get up, wash the record you want to listen to and spend all that ...
Open Letter To REL, SVS, Hsu, etc., et al I can't agree more with you. I purchased a pair of REL S2 SHO subwoofers and I still don't know if I have them set up right. They should have a DVD or online video walking you through the steps. Great subwoofers though. |
