Review on Coda Technologies 16 Amplifier went live today @rlovendale the #16 sounds better to me than both of those SS amps. I thought the Plinius was too warm. The AVA FET400, even though not class A was a decent sounding amp with excellent bass but not on the level of the Coda #16.
Review on Coda Technologies 16 Amplifier went live today @decooney 60’s vintage Altec Lansing 1570B built by John Tucker (Exempler Audio) they use (2) 811A tubes in each mono block and produce 165 watts per channel. These mods surpass Tom Tutay’s mods. Sounds like a high powered SET.
Review on Coda Technologies 16 Amplifier went live today @smodtactical Of that bunch I can firmly put the #16 at the top of the heap but a special shout-out to the 35 year old Mirror Image Audio 1.1 SB for competing with the best current day amps. My friend (Dave Rayden) used to own the company.
Review on Coda Technologies 16 Amplifier went live today @smodtactical SS Amp’s I’ve owned: Coda #16 (current amp) Coda #8 Benchmark AHB2 Van Alstine AVA FET400 Plinius SA103 Mirror Image Audio 1.1 SB Musical Fidelity M6PRX AGD Audion’s
Install A Dedicated AC Line at home This is the best upgrade I’ve made. Not a subtle upgrade by any means especially if you have a power hungry SS amp. I did not know the capability of my Coda #16 amp until I did this. I wished I had done it sooner.
Review on Coda Technologies 16 Amplifier went live today I absolutely love my Coda #16. It is the best SS amp I’ve ever owned. The only thing that could make me part with it would be the custom built tube mono blocks that will be arriving this week and that’s a maybe.
Best 12AU7 Type Tubes for a Preamp In my Backert Labs Rhythm 1.3 I use NOS 12SN7’s with the proper adapters in place of 12AU7’s and the results are wonderful.
Silver Speaker Cables @charliee I'm not sure when you last tried to contact him but it was only a few months ago that he had Quadruple bypass surgery. I watched my father go through the same surgery and I know it takes a while to comeback from. He has been working on...
Cerious Technologies NEW Graphene Cables Good news! I have burning-in a set of Bob Grost (Cerious Technologies) cables. This is Bob’s latest iteration of Graphene cables and supersedes the wonderful sounding Graphene Matriix line. He is using silver conductor as the backbone and addin...

Amp straight into the wall I can report that plugging my Coda #16 power amp into my PS Audio P15 will very noticeably restrict dynamics. Even thought about selling this wonderful amp until I decided to plug it directly into the wall. Then I went a step further and installed...
Audio people you've had contact with that proved to be good people. Mark Schneider (Linear Tube Audio) Dan Wright (Modwright) Jose Ramirez (Dr Vinyl) Gary Gill (Capital AudioFest, Pacific Audiofest) Bob Grost (Cerious Technologies)
We Can Make Classic Cars Outperform Today's "SuperCars": Why Not Vintage Audio? Who says we can’t? I have a pair of highly modified circa 1960 Altec Lansing 1570B mono block on the way from John Tucker (Exempler Audio) and these sound incredible, far better than the Tutay version.
Backert Rhumba 1.3 OR Modwright LS 100 ? @soix The Rhythm 1.3 has a fuller sound stage and an even more refined, realistic image. It really shows you why a good preamp is important and don’t get me wrong because the MZ preamp is a killer pre and same with the MZ2. Don’t forget the Rhyt...
Backert Rhumba 1.3 OR Modwright LS 100 ? I am a huge LTA fan and love my MicroZOTL Preamp. I did recently purchase a Backert Rhythm 1.3 for a second system. The Rhythm is clearly superior to the MZ Pre but at twice the price. I wish I could comment on the Rhumba but I have never heard th... |
