Berning ZH270 vs 845 SET amp Hi Mike,I think your concerns about the Berning too honest are valid, and given many of the strong statements to that end I too might be concerned. Let me say this though. If you were to read many of the posts concerning the 270 the VAST majority ...
Berning ZH270 vs 845 SET amp Hi mike,I think the big question you need to ask yourself is "what is the tube sound I like, or want?" This meaning there are pretty much two different tube camps. One camp is what I would call traditional tube sound(please understand I am not say...
Stereo Tube Amp Comparisons I second the Berning ZH-270. Frankly the 270 is a whole different ball game. Once you hear it there is no turning back. And like Twl said, it is virtually maintenace free, runs cool, and is nearly indestructable. None of the finicky protocol to de...
Is the Berning ZH270 revalatory? First let me say congratulations Mew, for taking the leap and purchasing a Berning. In reference to your question I think that you will find Berning owners to be quite a tight knit group of audiophiles who are quite fond/fanatical of the product. ...
Music Reference RM200 or David Berning ZH270? I apologize, I supplied an incorrect e-mail address. For all those interested in contacting Allan, his E-mail address is info@allanbhagan.info.
Music Reference RM200 or David Berning ZH270? All, I can say is that there is NOTHING even close to the Berning in its price range. Just heard the Berning running Merlin speakers at the Montreal show, and it was awesome. The Berning is an absolutely neutral amp, that shows what ever else is i...
Best CDP isolation device you use? You may want to check out Stillpoints. These cones really work. For more info go to there website.Kris
Best set-up for up to 9k retail? Richardmr,A very good friend of mine has a Volvare. You CAN NOT get a better table for the money. The Avid is incredible. I have heard Nottinghams, Regas, Clearaudio, Etc... The Volvare I heard had an SME 309 arm and a Audioquest cartridge which w...
Where is noise coming from? If you haven't already(which I am sure you have)check for cartridge alignment. Sounds like a symptom. usually the right channel(inner channel) if there is a mal-adjustment. Just a thought. Good luck.Kris
Seeking Great Cool Runnin' SS Amp... I second the Berning. Hard to beat the 270(if at all) and you get the benefits of the glorious OTL sound in spades! The Berning would work very well with the PROACS too. I know somebody who is running a pair of 2.5's with a 270 and says its the be...
OTL Tube Amps-- are they superior to everything? Apparently, you have not heard of the David Berning ZH 270. Uses only 4 output tubes, idles at 100 watts, weighs 10 lbs. And will drive any speaker you throw at it(power actually increases, as Ohms decrease). It does not suffer from the traditiona...
any tried Still Points? Twl, to see a picture of the Still Points go to www.stillpoints.us, not much info but good pics.
any tried Still Points? Twl,The Still Points are Ceramic Bearings housed in what appeares to be aluminum cone. No Ferrous metal at all. This is one of the reasons I chose to use them under my amp. I too have a Berning 270. The ZOTL products as you know are very sensitive...
any tried Still Points? I will have to whole heartedly agree with Davidz. Have been using the still points under my cd player and amp. I have heard the MIB 1.0-1.2 as well as the pro's in my system and in my opinion these are superior to them all. The MIB's have a tenden...
Problems getting the best out of my Berning Peter, I must say this is an unusual description of the Berning. Out of curiosity, what is the amp sitting on? This amp is EXTREMELY sensitive to any metal. I had an experience like this once with my 270. It turned out that one of the binding post... |
