Album Covers & Inserts
Many albums in Discogs have pictures of their album art - front & back - and inner sleeves & inserts. It’ll take some time, and some digging, but it’s very likely that you’ll be able to find images for many of the albums you need. Good luck!
Thoughts On Turntable Clamps And Weights
On my VPI Scoutmaster Signature, which includes a clamp provided by the manufacturer, I find I prefer a weight. I tried a brass weight by TT Weights, it’s fairly heavy, and the sound of my records played using the weight does sound better than wit...
Primaluna Dialogue Premium Integrated driving Magnepan .7 with Bypassed Fuses
@classic8 : I’m very glad to hear that you’re enjoying the sound of your system. In the end, that’s the most important thing, isn’t it? I’ve found Magnepan speakers to be special… not everyone’s cup of tea, but special for those who appreciate wha...

@bdp24 : Yes, I’ve read many of your posts over the years. The RM-9 is an amp I’d love to try one day! Also, I’ve been considering possibly getting my hands on a pair of the ET LFT-8b speakers that you and others have written about… but I don’t ha...
Primaluna Dialogue Premium Integrated driving Magnepan .7 with Bypassed Fuses
@bdp24 : Yes, I bought a NOS RM-200II from Music Reference shortly after Roger passed. I had a few conversations with him over the phone prior to that purchase, and some more via email. He asked about my specific system, listening habits, room siz...
Primaluna Dialogue Premium Integrated driving Magnepan .7 with Bypassed Fuses
@classic8 : You’re welcome! To be clear… I used the RM-10 with the Maggies without them with no problem, but chose to buy them to make the amp/speaker synergy a happier one. Also, the designer of the amplifier (Roger Modjeski) was a strong advocat...
Primaluna Dialogue Premium Integrated driving Magnepan .7 with Bypassed Fuses
@classic8 : One caveat I’d like to mention… I use Speltz Zeros to double the impedance that the amp sees, and I’m using the 8 ohm output taps. I didn’t notice a big difference in sound, but it made me feel more comfortable with using a lower power...
Primaluna Dialogue Premium Integrated driving Magnepan .7 with Bypassed Fuses
@classic8 : Hello… I had MG-1.7s, and now MG-3.7s driven by a Music Reference RM-10 amplifier (35 wpc), and I listen to music in a slightly larger room than yours, at slightly higher levels with no problem at all. I’m enjoying some of the best sou...
Steve Guttenberg finally reviews the Eminent Technology LFT-8b loudspeaker.
@bdp24 : I have considered all the points that you mentioned. What gives me pause to replace them are the following: I have very little to complain about with my current set up, so why upset the apple cart? I have worked out my room, best location...
Steve Guttenberg finally reviews the Eminent Technology LFT-8b loudspeaker.
@tablejockey :  Agreed! The discussion starts with someone trying to raise awareness about a speaker that may be a good fit for others… aka - trying to be HELPFUL!… and out come the people trying to shoot down something they have zero experience w...
Question about wpc on tube amps
@timintexas : I only speak from my own experience, so please take this with the appropriate grain of salt… Rated wpc doesn’t tell you much of an amplifier’s story. Someone else wrote that this one specification only describes the amplifier’s maxim...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
+1 @campoly : These speakers take time to break in… more so than any other speaker I’ve had experience with. I believe it’s due to the fact that the entire panel needs time to “relax”, rather than just the surround material. Even used ones need a ...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
@yyzsantabarbara :  I used to sell Magnepan speakers (and I’ve owned several models myself). There were times, as a salesman, when I cautioned a potential buyer that the room “may be” too small for a model they were considering. I always (almost a...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
@arafiq : I was pretty satisfied with the low frequency response of my 1.7i, but I wanted “more of a good thing”, so I bought a pair of DWM bass panels. They added a bit of meat to the sound, but they were tricky to set up to blend with the mains,...
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally!
@jjss49 : I agree completely! My room is almost the same size as yours (15x21), and I’ve had both the 1.7i & the 3.7 set up with the same electronics, in the same environment, and I found the 1.7i to be an overachiever at the size and price. I...
