Two pairs of spkrs in tandem
Passive loudspeakers cannot generate hum, only reproduce it. Now, are the 300ti's in parallel with the B&W's? Your actually wiring circuit is unclear to me from what you have posted.Kal
Why, one front/one back sub, a double distance?
Typically, Audyssey will measure the "distance" of the subwoofer(s) as significantly longer than the physical distance because the delay, not the distance, is the critical measure. In the real world, that delay is sum of the physical distance and ...
Amps/AVproc/pre forRevel Ultima Salon 2 5.1 system
Your naivety is revealed by your statement that these speakers "run at" any particular power level. What kind of power they need will depend on your room dimensions, furnishings and your preferred listening levels. I would certainly not recommend ...
Analogue for Home Theater???
What do you mean by "analogue 5.1 processor?" There are a number of good to excellent analog 5.1 preamplifiers but, if there is any processing/conversion included, one could not call such a device an "analogue 5.1 processor."I have reviewed many o...
Audyssey powered components
What do you mean "proprietary?" It is a 5 band per channel PEQ. I prefer to use most of that for the bass. Kal
Audyssey powered components

Audyssey powered components
The problem with the 8003, which is a competent design, is that it (1) uses MultEQ, not MultEQ XT and (2) cannot use Audyssey with any of the HD codecs. The imminent release of the AV7005 at about $1500 msrp will correct both.Kal
Are Integra Pre/Pros too good to be true?
I am still impressed with the 9.8 but have never heard the Rotel.Kal
Squeezebox hard to see?
Well, the Duo has a small display on the remote which you can hold in your hand and squint at. The Touch has a greatly superior display but it ain't gonna help if it is 15' away. I use the Touch but, probably, will be adding an iPad for a remote c...
Audyssey powered components
Since you have an SMS-1, assuming you are happy with the results, you have an interesting option: Get a Classe SSP and transfer the EQ settings from the SMS-1. In addition, you can use the measurement/display functions of the SMS-1 to program the ...
Proceed Pre balanced input and rca output?

Problems with Marantz AV 8003 & new AV 7005
It has XLR outputs (http://www.hembioconsult.se/partnerfiles/hembioconsult/pdf/AV7005.pdf) and DSD decoding is not a deal-breaker, imho.Kal
Problems with Marantz AV 8003 & new AV 7005
C'mon. Read the specs for the SR7005 receiver: http://us.marantz.com/Products/3230.aspOr read the announcement for the AV7005 prepro:http://us.marantz.com/AVSeparatesFinal_July2010.pdfThey are not the same. You can express your opinion, of course, ...
