What is interesting is there is no published standard I am aware of in what listeners prefer in a dac. You can argue all you want for a $2 dac or a $4 dac, I know of no published studies. The links you posted @djones51 are anecdotal and appreciate...

Next you have the acoustic unfriendly windows on the left, maybe some curtains? These rec’s are for any speakers you own. Finally I would get the audyssey upgrade through the microsoft store (read the review I posted) and the calibrated mic neede...

OK, the pic is very helpful. The first thing is getting your listening position at the proper angle to the speakers. Dolby recommends a 22 to 30 degree angle to the front L and R speakers to the MLP. This would require you bringing the sofa toward...

@djones51 , I liked your post, DAC’s are commodities, if you have a link that shows there is no listener preferences among dacs great. The number chasing guru must be on a different website, maybe you can rescue the , uhhh, "ill informed" before t...

OP, you need to address the open floor plan as well as addressing your speakers. Have you taken measurements of your in room frequency response yet? Can you post your system, pics, and your measurements in your virtual system in your profile (see ...
Starting from scratch in a large room
The OP’s question is is NOT about speakers, it is "starting from scratch in a large room and the challenge is book shelf speakers must be used. So, to start from scratch: 1) Get a room kit from Auralex or Sonitususa.com to treat the room. Call t...

@jtgofish , at least there is data to support what listeners like in speakers and headphones. Do you know of any data that supports what listeners prefer in DACS? ASR seems to rank DACS by SINAD. Can anyone reading this thread (calling @amir_asr )...
Active Speakers Better? No, per Michael Borresen
I don't know the size of your room but those RBH towers seem  huge. If I were shopping at that size and price range I would compare with the JBL M2's and the Bryston Active Model T. I am sure all three measure and perform exemplary.
