Power Strips - Wiremold vs.Hammond vs BPT PPC
I have used wiremold power strip for years and found it to be very effective. Did not notice Ostemo8's experience vs direct to wall socket, but also few complaints. FYI, using this now with dedicated 10 gauge/20A line, industrial spec outlet on it...
Most enjoyable speaker you heard under $800??
MMG is good choice with right gear.

+1 for: Monitor Audio Silver (or Bronze), Epos ELS 3, Wharfedale DiamondAlso: PSB Imagine XB, Rega RS-1, Focal Chorus bookshelf - any model except 807V which sounds too bass heavy in most applications to me
XLR or RCA?
OK, in theory from this discussion should I take it that, all materials being equal, XLR cables are more resistant to noise than RCA cables? That noise can be both a function of cable length and EMF environment? And furthermore should I assume tha...
"best" 3.5mm to RCA cable
Any updates on this? What are you using for your AQ Dragonfly? I am currently running the version 1.2 which I think is quite good, and am now more open on price if you have noticed a significant difference in your setup and can make a solid recomm...
On the draining of resonance.....
I think part of the reason some people say a 4" wood block sounds better than a 2" thick wood block is because the greater mass as a part of the equipment-spike-block system resists being affected by external vibration to a greater degree than the...
Arcam A49 Integrated
The current issue of Absolute Sound has a short review of the A49 that is quite positive.

Basement. We had problems with unstable fill on the building site so our basement slab now sits on top of $26,000 worth of crushed rocks. My turntable sounds great. Highly recommended. LOLkn
My stereo isn't doing it for me. Need advice
+1 for the fact that about 50% of Agon posters I have interacted with over the last ten years responded to this post within one day. +2 for the "room is the problem"+3 for the stuffed animals suggestion.+4 for the near field listening suggestion. ...
On the draining of resonance.....
I realize my suggestion to put gear directly on a concrete floor is something of a side light given the original post, and could be perceived as contrary to my earlier advice, so let me praddle on a bit further. The conditions that made me resort ...
On the draining of resonance.....
Ommmmmm. Of course you would ask me that! My wood blocks I was using on my old shelf (and when I say old, I mean like 175 years old!!) don't fit on my new shelf, so my turntable is sitting on the ground, which is OK, because the ground is a concre...
Bowers and Wilkins B&W 705 speakers_questions.
Maybe I have a slightly different perspective on the AVR. 705's are more forgiving in my experience than the 805's by a long shot. Try a top of the line Yamaha, intrgra, or especially any Arcam AVR. Should be pretty good match. I listened to the 7...

Cool, will be interested to see what you have come up with. I am big on home brew isolation solutions, and my opinions have been hard won! Lots of early attempts that were different sounding from stock, but not always better, as mentioned by someo...

Jafreeman, nice system! I would not recommend putting metal cones or spikes directly on a stone surface like the one depicted under your amp. In that case, the stock rubber feet would likely perform much better. My experience is that spikes or con...
