Any problems streaming 24/192 files to external DAC from Bluesound Node?
I also upgraded the Arcam irDAC to a Chord Electronics QuteHD which made a huge positive difference in system performance.  The Node is really very good for what it costs, and the streamer/server functions are far better than the internal DAC in m...

@alcecena I not quite sure what you’re saying here.  Yes the node can definitely output 24/192 files via RCA coax, with fairly high quality.  And I only think it can only output up to 24/96 files via Toslink, although it’s been a while since I che...
Yes, digital cables matter too
@nonoise glad that worked out for you.  It is the best Toslink cable I’ve tried so far.
Prospectives on Chi-Fi
Putting politics aside and just looking at the facts, this ship sailed a long time ago, when western based multinational corporations saw an opportunity to destroy unions and make products abroad and sell them at back home at a dollar on the cent ...

@lowrider57 I finally got around to purchasing a coax cable and selected a used Chord Signature Super ARAY at 1m length. It was a reasonable deal and sounds terrific in my system. Thanks for the conversation and input. kn

Does your system sound “better” after being away?
@pabs85 good and often overlooked point, the hobby should have some connection to musicality to the listener’s ear, and not just about hifi pyrotechnics.  But.  While I have liked well recorded classical music on my analogue front end for some tim...

Premium Power Cable Survey: The Results Are IN
Thanks for this.  Looks like the majority of respondents appreciate having upgraded power cables.  I do.  This is how I would have answered the survey. Here’s the complete survey for those who didn’t have the opportunity to complete it (or, can...

@nonoise my Unique Products cable is 1.0M. The medical grade cable recommended by Steve Nugent was 1.5M and I was unimpressed with that. As mentioned previously, my DHLabs Toslink cable is also 1.5M, so take the direct comparison in my system wi...
Yes, digital cables matter too
My older Chord dac can handle 32/384 via coax and 24/192 via either USB or Toslink.  The resolution via Toslink depends on both the source output and the dac input.

@tweak1 Chinese cables. I could write an essay on that. Suffice to say that I have had great but not necessarily consistent luck with both counterfeits and Chinese house brands, particularly for power cables and connectors. Some of the cables I ha...
Yes, digital cables matter too
@soix about half the cables in my test were directional, and half were not labeled.  However I placed them in my system, the sound signatures were repeatable and consistent between cables, but the point of testing directionality for any given coax...
