Powered speakers show audiophiles are confused
speaker dude wrote, "I won't speak for @donavabdear, but I will speak for myself that the question is essentially irrelevant and is begging an answer. Phase corrected is essential for any working speaker design, time corrected looks much better on...
Powered speakers show audiophiles are confused
donavabdear, do any of your Genelec speakers have the dynamic correctness and dynamic excitement and immediacy of a large properly designed fully horn loaded system with horn bass in the low 20s Hz range, DSP crossed over, speaker corrected, room ...
World's Best Stereo System ?...
I agree with previous posters who stated that their stereo was the best in the world.  In my case with DIY horn speakers and DEQX DSP if it didn't sound great to me it would be my fault.

Don't forget to grease the gears.
Fully active Klipschorns?
I use a DEQX DSP with my fully horn loaded DIY speakers; Bill Fitzmaurice HT Tuba folded corner horns, Oris 150 horns driven by AER BD3 drivers and Fostex t900a super tweeters.  I feel that the results are excellent.  The folded bass horns are bac...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear Raul, you certainly get a lot said.  As an audiophile for over fifty years I have owned or auditioned with my system many moving magnet, moving iron and electret cartridges including offerings from Shure, Stanton, Empire, Grado, Clearaudio, M...
Own many mid-game speakers or a few end-game speakers.
I agree with Miller Carbon and others.  I want to spend time listening to the very best speakers I can find and afford and not to a bunch of second bests. Audioguy85 wrote, "I'll keep my tannoys made in Scottland UK over any home built abominatio...
Vinyl - One Word - WOW!!
pindac, your post is the first I remember seeing extolling the virtues of streaming because of the theory of anthropogenic global warming.  I don't find your argument to be cogent.
How long does it take a decent quality speaker to "wear out"?
In 1972 when my wife and I were both in college we bought a pair of Bose 901 Series 1, the ones with the drivers having corrugated surrounds.  Now half a century later the speakers are still going strong in our son's basement party room.  The chin...
What Could Cause Center Image To Present Lower than Expected
I would very much appreciate it if someone would remind me how to properly quote excerpts from previous posts.

High-end-turntables
I recently used a wire transfer to pay AER Speakers in Germany for upgrading my AER BD3 drivers.  It was a transfer of about $3,500.00.  All ended well.  Innocent child that I am I didn't realize this might leave me vulnerable to problems.  If the...
Powered speakers show audiophiles are confused
I totally agree about the virtues of active speakers.  My triamplified, fully horn loaded, DEQX DSP crossed over and corrected, DIY speakers are a good example of active speakers that allow the user to select enclosures (horns), drivers, amplifier...
2023 Audio System Wish List
I hope to buy a new DEQX Pre 8 preamp/ DSP to replace my old DEQX. I'm rather frustrated because DEQX first promised the new product line would be available third quarter 2022; Then fourth quarter 2022.  Nor who knows.  Supply chain and semiconduc...
What Power Cable Are You Using For The Serene Preamp...
I expect that the power cord which came in the box with the preamp will be just fine.
