Are audiophile speakers turn on for single women?
"Seriously, sometimes I get more excited about my speakers than women. Is that wrong?"No it isn't, as long as you're not making love to them.
"God Bless the Child" on Idol?
It is weird - judges on one hand praise being emotionally attached to the song while the same time they praised Paul singing with big smile "I shot man in Reno...". I'm not sure why judges are even there, since they praise everything. There are so...
Best combination of sweetness and dynamics?
Hyperion HPS-938. 6ohm nominal 3.8ohm min, 90dB.
Spikes or Spikeless
I'm not sure what the objective is. Spikes are usually needed to decouple speaker from vibrating floor (infinitely small point cannot transfer energy). Your floor is concrete and most likely won't vibrate, so I assume you want to suppress speaker ...
Could this be the next Frank Sinatra?
"I guess he should just pack it up and go work for McDonald's instead"I agree, but if he tries really hard he might get singing job at cruise line or restaurant.

Al - I agree. I can see some relevance in laptop design where larger heatsink or heatsink with fan might not fit but cannot imagine any sense of it in SS amplifier where output transistors that generate heat are already mounted to external heatsin...

Paste suppose to improve thermal contact since surface is never perfectly smooth (to lower case to heatsink thermal resistance). Jejaudio said: "It's keeping everything in your computer cool inside so it can work as efficiently as possible."It mig...
upgrading inductor
What do you mean by "higher gauge"? If you intend to use thinner wire (skin effect) and keep the same resistance and inductance you can achieve this by using tape woven inductors. Many good speakers have tape inductors but also many very good spea...

"The heat sink designer can now factor the shape of the sink as well as the thermal conductivity."Shape is already included in thermal resistance - length isn't. Extrusions are often specified in degC/W/inch.The purpose of heat pipes is to remove ...
Band with highest success/talent ratio?
I second Milli-Vanilli. They were so good that singing or composing wasn't even necessary.
Could this be the next Frank Sinatra?
Boring as hell. He doesn't seem to understand the lyrics - Sinatra does. He might mature but I doubt it.
"God Bless the Child" on Idol?
"Audiophile Idol"? - not even close to decent sound. Sound quality of many shows, including music awards got really bad in recent years.
Toslink or 110 ohm aes/ebu?
Magfan,Stereophile claims low word clock jitter (258ps)on digital output and 10x worst performance on analog out (sidebands).http://www.stereophile.com/digitalprocessors/505appleI use Airport Express (smooth and clean) but my Benchmark DAC1 is jit...
"God Bless the Child" on Idol?
Judges are not judging - they simply like everything (Simon is being missed). Perhaps producers believe in better ratings without criticism. Horrible acoustics (too much of reverberation) was today aided by so much compression that all performance...
What credit cards do you use?
"I'll say it again, nothing is free"Right you are, you pay for it. As T_Bone explained CC company charges store few percent to give me cash back (few percent) plus delay on payment and all other perks. Store has to raise the price by few percent b...
