There Is Nothing Like the Real Thing - Our State of the Art
There are many presentations in high-end audio. There’s the “fool you it’s real” using very transparent components, dropping the noise floor (better components, room treatments, ac conditioner, filters…). There are “musical” speakers like Devore...
am I missing something?
@marcfrenette - it’s great you find satisfaction in your system, but your question of “better” is a subjective one that can only be answered by you by demoing other gear.  However, you may develop discontentment leading to further purchases. Chec...
There Is Nothing Like the Real Thing - Our State of the Art
If one looks at the steps of recording and playback, it seems a miracle that it can sound fairly real.  But trying to chase “real” in one’s audio chain can be foolhardy if expectations aren’t realistic (poor recordings, difficult room..), it’s muc...
Synergistic Research FEQ Carbon
I heard the FEQ at an audio show.  It seems to condition the air so the music was more coherent - the individual musical parts come together.  The sonic uptick leads to deeper involvement, worth the price. There seems to be similar products from ...

Looking for a new phon cartridge
Yes, retipping a Koetsu may be a challenge. Luckily, my Rosewood SigPlat and Coralstone D have very low hours.
Kuzma 4 point 9” or 313VTA
I reached for a 4point11 because it offers high price/performance, I’d have to spend 10k+ to beat it.  Plenty of very positive reviews. agree- ask a dealer for sonic differences

??? What Is The MOST Expensive System You Ever Heard ??? What Was Your Opinion ???
+1 @tom2015 - demoed many systems at audio shows and showrooms. MBL consistently sounds great, especially the 101 and above.  I’m thinking the 120/126 might be good for a shared space like a family room. The Gryphon Commander+Apex combo sounded ...
How do you decide what to listen to? Same old stuff?
Radio. I have a vintage Kenwood FM tuner I have to send in for a complete check-up before running.  I haven't figured out the antennae, roof installation?  No way, and yet, in pursuit of better sonics....
Will an Amp change improve my system ?
Hegel and Harbeth have great sonic synergy, I'm thinking about getting the Hegel H400 + Harbeth m30.2 xd combo someday.
Retirement integrated amp for a “fiscal conservative”

Retirement integrated amp for a “fiscal conservative”
Maybe: PrimaLuna EVO 300 Hybrid Integrated - tube pre, SS amp LAB12 Integre4 - 4x KT150 power tubes but great sonic performance  Krell K-300i solid state which has sliding ibias for midrange warmth.
Pro-Ject Tube Box DS2 Phono. Where do I go from here?
PS Audio Stellar Phono
Japanese Voltage.
@irjones - it does introduce noise, but whether relevant it depends on how transparency of your audio chain.  In high-end audio, better components often drops the noise floor so additional may or not be acceptable.
