What is the "5a"?
Monitor Audio Studio 20SE vs. GR20 or GR60
oops, I see you were talking about the Studio series not the newer Gold Signature series. Sorry.
Monitor Audio Studio 20SE vs. GR20 or GR60
The MA GS 60s is a very under rated speaker. And you are right, so many people do not have them set up right. Many are pairing them with not so good receivers, have a rack stand/TV between them, and have them back all the way against the wall. The...
Cayin A88T amp section vs. McIntosh MC275 IV?
The VR4s are sensitive enough(91) the Cayin will have no trouble driving them at all so I'm not so sure you would not need more power. Plus the speaker plug in options on the back allow you to taylor the sound to your liking. Also, you can swap tu...
Cary SLP-05 vs Dodd Battery Pre
I'm a little slow on the uptake here. So, are you guys saying the Dodd is one up on the Cary SLP-05 or the other way around?
Most musical integrated amp you have heard?
Steve, what did you like so much about the CJ CA 200?
Simaudio's New Moon 700i Integrated
If there is a built in USB/DAC, then why are you going to get the 750D?
Simaudio's New Moon 700i Integrated
I was hoping they were going to incorporate a USB DAC in the same chasis, a true one box solution.
I need SS muscle
Check into Sim amps. Also Edge. Good suggestions above too. Good luck and have fun with your search.
High power amp reccomendations, airy highs a must
check out the Sim Audio W3 or W5. If budget allows the Sim 5.3 or further up the line the W7 and W8. Also, you should check out the McCormacks for sure.
Sim W-5 vs Pass X250 / X350 with Dyn C-4
is the .5 series a bit warmer or easier on the ears? It seems there have been a lot of comments about the older series being a bit dry. I have the W-3 and I do not find this the case at all, but I have a warm pre and forgiving speakers. I also lik...
Transitioning from Tubes back to SS
PHD, which ones come close? examples? I have noticed the same thing, but it also depends on speaker choices and what is front of them. I have heard some solid state gear sound dry and bright and that same gear can sound airy and open and even just...
Impossible? Small towers, efficient, musical, loud
Check out WLM loudspeakers. They have a new entry level one coming out soon called the Stella and there is a good review on 6 moons on some of their other models. One of the big pluses is they are not as room dependent as most other speakers.
speakers that rock
Monitor Audio GS 60. Very underrated IMO. To top it off, nice looking or very good WAF.
Amphion Xenon vs Usher 6381
Primus is where I got my Xenons as well. Great place and great people. I hope they do well. The Xenons are indeed great speakers and I think they are very under rated.
