LAIV Harmony
I’m at about 220 hours. I love this DAC! The Klipsch Cornwall IVs that I am currently using expose everything bad upstream, so far it ’s all good coming out of the speakers. The Laiv is a SMOOTH operator. Very balanced, extended, detailed, and yet...

Mine has a little over 100 hours. For the past couple of weeks prior to receiving the Laiv, I was going direct from my streamer to the DAC on my McIntosh 8950 integrated amp. It sounded pretty darn good. Changing to the Laiv, it sounded kind of co...

audiostick, I don't have cd player or even a dvd player.  Still no internet so I can't connect to the streamer to play anything.  I guess cable was cut and the army core of engineers apparently won't let them fix it because of flooding.  For those...

My Laiv came today.  I can't listen to it because the area I'm in is out of wifi service probably until tomorrow night.  Bummer.

solarjam, thanks for your impressions.   As an audiophile with tinnitus, it is good to know the Laiv has a smooth and relaxing nature.

audiostick, if you go to the last couple of pages on that thread, there is user impressions, not much before that.   smweber2,  I ordered May 31st, confirmation said shipping at the end of June.  If they moved it to later date, I haven't been not...
Non-fatiguing speakers in $10K range?
Based on the sound description of these, it may be what you are looking for

I have one on order.  It is supposed to ship at the end of June.  Over on headfi, there is a thread with some owners, all positive impressions so far.
Non-fatiguing speakers in $10K range?
larsman, I think with the older Harbeths that was the case, but the new versions are better for rock.  I had the Harbeth SHL5plus XD and thought they were pretty good with rock.   They even showcased them with a heavy dose of hard rock at one of t...
Non-fatiguing speakers in $10K range?
"Classic rock, hard rock, 80s new wave, punk, pop (classic and modern)". I like these genres too. The frustrating thing is often these recordings sound better on car stereos and headphones than they do on high end systems. For example, about 15 ye...
Cornwall IV vs. Volti Rival, Razz; Razz v. 1, 2, 3 -- what changed?
I own the Cornwall 4s.  I damped the tweeters and mid horn.  I did not do the woofers.  Is it worth it to do so?   Also, should I have these toed in or just aimed straight ahead?   I will experiment on my own but I wanted to know if there was a ge...
Back to the DAC
For my DAC, I was using the DAC in my McIntosh MA 8950 integrated amp. It worked well with my Polk Audio R700s. But then I got a pair of Klipsch Cornwall 4s. They would sound outstanding on some recordings but on a lot of material they would sound...
Cornwall iv
Thumbs up on the damping.   Jeffseight, I don't think GR  Research offer a crossover upgrade for the CW4s, only the Forte 3s from the Heritage line.  If he does offer it, it's not on his sight that I can see. For those using solid state amps, th...
klipsch cornwall iv upgraded crossovers
What about dampening the woofer baskets?  Think that would help smooth out the sound a little?  I know a lot of people have done the mid and tweeter.
Swiss Digital Fuse Box - "What headroom sounds like"
I thought I would weigh in.  I originally ordered the SDFB for a Puritan PM136 power conditioner.  Unbeknownst to Mark and I the new ones do not appear to have a fuse.  He had done some SDFB for the Puritan in the past, but those must have been ol...
