Turntable Isolation Journey @mulveling Thanks for the pictures and clarification. H
Turntable Isolation Journey Thanks for this @mulveling ! My main system is in my living room on a suspended wooden floor. My new Stabi R is on the top shelf of a SolidSteel 3 level rack. It sits on a Symposium Svelte platform which covers a Vibraplane. I bet the Symposium...
Do 5-pole DIN tonearm connectors deteriorate the sound? Kuzma arms offer different wire choices and most are from clips to pre-amp.
End Game Turntable suggestions Fantastic. Excellent choices on table and cart. Enjoy!
New Vandersteen Control Center (pre amp) will be at the Ultra Fidelis room at AXPONIA I use the M5-HPA in my Quatro Woods. Great combo. I use a Pass XP-22 pre and a 5M XLR interconnect. I’m assuming the Vandy pre can also output XLR/balanced given Richards preference for that connection on his amps.
New Vandersteen Control Center (pre amp) will be at the Ultra Fidelis room at AXPONIA I'll be there Saturday. Looking forward to checking it all out.
Kirmuss Cleaning System Discuss? A friend of mine had the Kirmuss "restoration" system for a year or so. I used it with him several times for records that were older and had that old book smell. The system works. It made the older records sound a lot better. As a lab scientist a...
analog upgrade suggestions needed Soundsmith cartridges are nicely balanced and natural sounding. They dont have the top end openess of the Lyra but once they break in they do offer a bit more flesh on the bone. The Paua would be a fantastic choice.
Kumza Stabi S or Rega P10 ?? What about the Hana makes you know it wont require shims? What do you mean by shims? For VTA or for azimuth? Using a tonearm that allows you to actually adjust these parameters is an advantage over the Rega arms. If you are set on using a Hana ca...
Aligning cart on Rega style arms without defeatable anti-skating? Not intending to insult, but make sure your table is totally level when aligning your cart. Sometimes non-level tables can mimic antiskating/skating forces. This is easy to demonstrate when using a Wally Skater.
A Thought Exercise: Consolidating Analog To One Table and Two Cartridges @neonknight For your heavy unsuspended table, try to find an S level or better HRS platform. They isolate below 8 - 15Hz with the correct footers. There are a fair amount of them available used if you are not convinced and they are not ugly. In...
Kumza Stabi S or Rega P10 ?? @jc51373 The P10 works well in his vintage Marantz tube system. The Atlas works on his P10 without the need to alter the VTA. He also uses an HRS isolation platform under the P10.
Kumza Stabi S or Rega P10 ?? I think both are great tables. Neither are head and shoulders better that the other. But if you like to change things gradually over time, you want to be able to try different arms or carts, then Kuzma or Feickert, no question about it. I have a...
Investigating if ultrasound is harming LPs How about a before and after scanning electron microscopy image? View the “damage”?
Stylus gauge recommendations ? The Riverstone measures VTF very close to the level of a record. Important for many tonearms. |
