Just got ruined by a pair of Treo CTs
"As for driving them, they are very very easy to drive. Not a difficult load at all."Any other 85dB/2.83v/1m speaker I've owned, even at 8ohms (vs. the Treo 6ohms) required solid power to sound good. These must be an exception.

Just keep in mind they probably had $$$$ electronics feeding those 85dB @ 6 ohm puppies so YMMV depending on what you have at home. But still they'll spoil your ears no matter what. I had a similar experience with Quattro CT at a friends's home an...
KEFLS50 Wireless - Possible to plug Turntable *and CD Player into Single AUX Input ???
You can use a simple passive box like a Schiit Sys that allows for switching between two analog inputs. For $49 its a decent value. It also has a volume control but you can leave that at maximum and use the volume control in your active system.

Or, hang the speakers and the listening couch/chair from the ceiling and take the floor completely out of the equation. Problem solved.
Leave preamp on all day, off at night
Most of the comments above, heat, aging, etc., apply to both SS and tube electronics. Preamp tubes don't get too warm as compared to amplifier power tubes so the only real difference between an SS and a tube preamp is aging of the tubes and that's...
Which of these 3 simular streamers do I select - help!
I wouldn't worry too much about the wireless vs. wired connection unless you already have access issues using your mobile devices around the vicinity were you'll be locating your streamer. We have a two story house with the modem upstairs in a cor...

There's an MC7270 available for sale on this site- not mine and no association with the seller, around the same price as a new A21. Food for thought....
Match Amp w/Tekton Design Lore
"They do drive them but I can turn volume ALL the way up and still could go louder."I have no personal experience with Lore but given their spec of 98dB/1w/1m @ 8 ohms, you should be able to drive them very loud, e.g.,   98dB, with only a handful ...
Surprised
"I’m interested in hearing others thoughts on my scheme as opposed to floor standers with a single sub with appears most popular."I know a lot of folks do get subs with their floorstander speakers but for me the main reason to go the floorstander ...

"Find all the things wrong with that statement."Okay, I'll bite...I think they are both saying the same thing - they are absorbing the cabinet vibrations by adding the damping material...

Given that you have a good DAC, you may want to try a Chromecast Audio just to start your wireless streaming experience. For a $35 investment you will be pleasantly surprised. I compared it with my Bluesound Node2 and for regular CD quality non-MQ...

"The continued observations of "experts" who based only on specs and their biases know what other users systems sound like and which is obviously "best" is one of the mysteries of on line forums such as AudioGon"Well said. Indeed a mystery...
Floor standing speaker isolation advice needed.
A buddy of mine has his 80 lbs. speakers on a ceramic tile over half a dozen racquetballs on a floor similar to yours and it works for him. Trust your ears....
Removing spikes... Now my speakers sing
Too many variables in play to recommend a specific approach. The design of the speakers - port in the bottom/front/rear, weight, type of the floor (what's right below the speaker, next layer, etc.), height of the rug, etc., etc. What works for me ...
To bridge or not to bridge ?
Got it, thanks. I'll give it a try....
