This is NOT my opinion. You need to let the guys at Benchmark know what you think. This is what they told me when I asked them. To be more specific, this is the opinion of Rory Rall at Benchmark. Maybe you should initiate a dialog with him on this...

Diagnosing Distortion in PC Based System
I found distortion came through at times on my Sony VAIO using XP when the enhancements were activated and EQ selected. It didn't happen all the time but it was noticeable when it did.
