If you own quality monitor speakers you want to read this new review
Well, their speakers seem to have some very positive reviews. They are very attractive to boot. But I'm not totally understanding why that sub would be superior to a couple of carefully set up conventional subs.I would love to compare and listen fo...

I'm thinking that the "what ifs" are included in the review. But not having read it yet....
How many of you are digital only systems?
I've been all digital for quite some time since my old techniques tt died.I miss listening to vinyl but not the time and effort and $ spent. It's easier, and to me anyway makes more sense to put my $ towards digital. That said, if I won the lottery...
Best best ballads that refer to a US State

What process did you use to integrate multiple subwoofers for 2 channel listening?
I set up mine the old fashioned way - I put sub #1 in my listening position and walked around close to the walls while playing a track with deep bass.Quickly found the two corners where the bass was best and set them up there. Then it was a matter...
Help Me Improve My Turntable Set-Up
Can you try a more powerful amp?The Harbeths are wonderful speakers but they need power to really come alive. Also those speakers are meant for a small/medium room.Along with a couple of subs in the back corners they will rock.
Recapturing my youth
I don't think you'll be disappointed with the music and soundtracks. But dialogue might need some help. Think about a center channel, or at least plan to accommodate one if need be. I'm right there with ya loving the sound of older equipment from m...
Cables ... no longer opinion
I've used Goertz, River Cable(similar but thicker), MG Designs(side by side as opposed to stacked), and ZenWave (braided foil ribbon). They won't work with every amp because of the low inductance. Many amps need to see some inductance. The result is...

Help with first cable upgrade.
Audio Envy cables are very reasonably priced, slightly warm sounding with good bass.Good build quality also.I haven’t tried their speaker cables, but the ics and power cables are very good. There’s a long thread here in the cable forum with lots of...
Come on up to the House - Women Sing Tom Waits
I love Tom Waits! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely check this out.
Need opinions on ceiling reflections
Experiment with a few sheets of the 703.It's light enough to hang from screw eyes with heavy twine from the ceiling joists. If you find it's effective, make or buy something more attractive.I had as many as five 2' x4' panels on my ceiling but ende...
What Are Your Reference Discs? or Specific Reference Tracks
Ear candy is any disc put out by Analogue Productions. Also I want my not so well produced discs to be listenable.Greetings From the West - Fogelberg live has a little of everything.
Do any of you kids , want your system ???
Both of my kids enjoy listening but think it would be too complicated to move and set up. I'm still thinking about exactly how to handle it. One idea is to post ads for the entire system "pick up only" for a hugely discounted price.
I finally added a second REL Sub
I actually prefer the two higher quality subs (different brand) that replaced my swarm of cheapo subs. The crossovers are set approximately where the bass starts rolling off in the speakers so they blend perfectly.
