Ripping CD's to hard drive FLAC. It's lossless. What goes in, comes out and it doesn't waste space like uncompressed lossless formats, like WAV. Any ripping software will work because the compression algorithm is a standard. As a former software engineer who has written co...
Why do we stop listening to new music as we get older? I don’t ... but yes, most people get "stuck" on the music they listened to from about age 15-22. Seems very limiting. It possibly has to do, at least somewhat, with personality types. I’m a Sigma (I’m sure people have heard of Alphas and Betas, b...
Streaming Services Just pick any that have lossless (or close) compression. I use Amazon Music HD, either cast through my Amazon Echo, or ripped CDs through MusicBee from my laptop to my preamp. Bits are bits (coming from a former software engineer).

Favourite Guitarists @digsmithd As a guitarist i have been on the hunt for out side the box players Nick Johnston's Remarkably Human is the best guitar album I've heard in 30 years. I didn't list him here because, as a guitarist myself, I judge based on skill wit...

These are real factors in hardware design and in the end audio quality. Especially jitter. It is undeniable that the clockin...
Why are so many people spending so much money to build “perfect” streaming system? @charles1dad There have simply been a huge number of people who have begun streaming at a modest level and subsequently moved upward in sound quality and performance. They are not delusional or gullible. 51% of Americans believe in UFOs, even...
Why are so many people spending so much money to build “perfect” streaming system? @walkenfan2013 I get the exposure to discover new bands. I just think it is so complicated and overpriced to need all that new equipment. You don't need a lot of equipment. Or expensive equipment. I stream through an Amazon Echo via voice co...
Only two tracks to test your system, forever! Tiger Prowl - Cualli War of the Worlds tripod emergence scene
Do Streamer only devices really impact sound quality? Correct. Bits are bits. And jitter in today's equipment is so small it cannot possibly be audible. And error correction has been perfected for decades. Even as far back as when I was doing network programming for banking systems in the 80's. |
