@mahgister  Control of all flows ( money, information, people ) by monster corporations Lost of truth in a virtual world of fictions: how do you know real from fake from events, images, identities ? Control of "truth" and ministry of "truth"...

@mahgister You mentioned mathematics at the engineering level ... if you or anyone would like to see how an LLM works at that granular of a level check out the video Transformer Neural Networks ... on YouTube channel StatQuest with Josh Starmer. I...
Do I Really Need a Dedicated Streamer?
@tubeguy76 S.M.S.L Sanskrit 10th MK II It’s the best measuring cheapest one that looks good in my rack. Cost about $120. My other system uses the DAC of my Paradigm preamp because it supports Play-Fi. Doesn’t measure as well, but still beyond ...

LLM is built by absorbing human language and creativity and spew it out like the Bill Gates steak improper to human needs... Not true. Gates' meat is inferior. However, AI improves human language and creativity for most people. A PhD had an equ...

No, you don't need one, and no, quality will not increase. Even a $7 Apple DAC's noise level is beyond human hearing.
The HARD ROCK & HEAVY METAL Thread Continued
Way too many to mention. I've been a metal-head since I bought my first album (Black Sabbath - Paranoid) in the early 70's and have progressed along with the genre. I'll mention a few of the somewhat relatively obscure post-2000 releases and maybe...

Actually, AI opens up possibilities in music we don't even know exists. I haven't used physical media in a few years and don't miss the clutter one bit.
More potential bad news for some big names...
No surprise. This has been happening since cable TV was gaining popularity. The more forms of entertainment, the less of a slice each one gets. Even now I'd much rather watch a concert video than sit and stare at two big boxes like we did back in ...
Friends hi-fi system not very good, what do you do or say?
Life long lesson: Only give advise and/or make suggestions if you are asked to contribute.  @lak  On the money.

Anything by the band Tankard.
Any audiophile use computer (MacBook) as your audio streaming source?
I stream from a $180 Windows laptop using MusicBee through a Paradigm preamp using PlayFi on one system and through an SMSL DAC on another. However, I stream through an Amazon Echo to those same devices 90% of the time. Bits are bits. I don't worr...
YouTube Indicates What the Future is For Audiophiles - Interesting Demographics.
@rooze  Calming?! The music young people listen to has never been calming. My first album was Black Sabbath. The song that turned me into an audiophile was Edgar Winter's Frankenstein. Hardly calming. Nor is it usually thought provoking. You ever...

@rooze  My point and the reason for posting was to discuss what, if anything, could be done differently to attract a younger audience. Why? They obviously aren't interested. They have too many other sources of entertainment that us old guys di...

No surprise. Once the VCR came out it was inevitable. That started the parade of alternative couch-potato entertainment. And AI will exacerbate its demise.
