Bricasti M3 In the house
I’m the opposite. For critical listening / going ‘all in’ listing to a live performance, is when I use mine straight to amp. And use my preamp when that extra fullness and soundstage size is wanted over the less colored and more detailed presentat...
What's up with Vinnie Rossi L2i SE?
I also think more of these sold than the poster may believe. So many glowing reviews across the board and it’s right there in a pocket of sound, design, options and price point that is an appealing combination for people. There will always be ‘tha...
Rogers LS/35A Classic Mini Monitors Reviewed ! WOW
I’d like to come back to the list someday of all the speakers mentioned in this thread...
$5k-$6K DACs w Roon?
Bricasti, either M3 or M1 are great musical DACs and also have excellent implemented and sounding network connection capabilities. Many have said they’re better that way than any extra box added.

One of my most favorite Dead videos ever is the 6-21-71 Chateau d’Herouville Herouville France. Excellent time capsule of a great performance.  And the YT account Voodoonola (there is also voodoonola2) seemed to me at one point, to be the official...

@audionutjeff, might want to look into a possible new version of Dave coming along in the near future. I seem to remember a comment that Chord might be working on a new Dave.
Enjoying New CD Transport Purchase
@winoguy17 think tight and textured; the opposite of round, boomy...or dare I say ‘fluffy’ ;) (a more conventional word for the latter would be “wooly”)

Also, I feel a designer deciding to use silver internally in certain locations is little different than using silver ICs throughout a system.

@hchilcoat , I was going to say similar as cal; that it’d be a lateral move, with preferential differences. Lampizator has that ‘lit from within’ character that you won’t get with Termi or the May, being ss. Also Lampizator has a vivid and alive h...

Agree about the early ‘70’s. 1970 and ‘71 have some darn clear sounding recordings. I so wish it didn’t take the crew almost 6 months after Bear went to jail to get it together and start recording without him or we’d have more from ‘71. And yep, ‘...

@acefqctory, have you listened to much from 1972? Barring personal opinions —and I don’t want to turn this great thread into a debate— but it’s hard to deny there is something special and something unlike any other year happening in ‘72. A telepat...

@doug714 Jerry the cat!! That’s awesome!

@doug714 thank you. Spares me from embarrassing him; something I was cocked and ready to do this morning. Some people are just simple minded with no nuanced thinking. Unlike Jerry.

@rh67 how was working with (or more like ‘under’) Owsley? Assuming you got to. Was he as bossy as they say? I have a funny theory that the Dead had that lil bit of extra magic in ‘72 because Bear (RIP) was in prison, so his abrasive vibe wasn’t sw...

Y’all sound like you may already know but there’s a great book called Grateful Dead Gear (with lots of photos) that chronicles everyone’s rigs and their changes.
