Caveat Emptor
That is absurd! The 20% restocking fee is designed to enable one to audition equipment in their own home w/ their particular equipment to see if it sounds good. We know some equipment requires breaking in to sound its best. If the equipment is de...
most beautiful (looking) speakers
As you can see from the endless array of answers, it’s in the eye of the beholder.  To me, some of those mentioned are beautiful & some hideous as I’m sure others feel as well. What’s the most beautiful arson or time of day it place in the wor...
recommended speaker cables and interconnects
I’ve recently got a full complement of Triode Wire Labs cables (speaker, interconnect, pier & digital) & think they’re very good & reasonably priced. Handmade to order in  Massapequa Park, NY  in a week or two. Very  well made, very fl...
Need Help Matching to This System To Speakers
For myself, the only potential “advantage” of a small stand mounted speaker without full bass extension ability can be their ability for ultra detail & disappearing act ( often due to potentially less cabinet resonance s) which many hold in ve...
Scam Alert
Don’t even open emails or click on anything in ones you know are BS. Highlight the sender to see where it came from first  & 9 /10 of the time, it will be some crazy address so you know it’s a scam., Trash it immediately. Opening up unknown li...
After years of separates, I'm going integrated. Anyone else do the same?
I went to a Rogers High Fidelity Tubed Integrated Amp, model EFH 200 Mark II. Without a direct comparison in the same system & room, there’s really no way to tell how just how really good it is but it’s REALLY good! Lots of power, best bass I’...
I met this guy in a hotel room....
That may be so but just because a speaker can produce quite low frequency tones doesn't necessarily mean it can produce realistic bass notes from a bass guitar,  bass drum, kettle drum etc in a a tight, dynamic fashion at any decent volume in any ...
I met this guy in a hotel room....
Smaller two way speakers in a small room may net good bass response at moderate volumes.  I do not see how it’s possible in larger rooms or at louder volumes without either big woofers or multiple medium sized ones. I doubt anyone has ever heard t...
Does Anyone Buy Schiit for the Sake of Schiit?
Dies anyone have any experience with their two newer pieces of “Schiit”, the equalizers? I was thinking of trying one to help sort out a mid bass hump I have in my living room before I start putting any sound absorption devices in that my wife wou...
American Made Audio Products
Jim5559 - There may be some equivalent quality items made in Europe & Canada but better? Doubtful. Here's just a few brands that are amongst the very best available in their respective price ranges & American made: Magico, YG Acoustics, R...
Interesting comment on Bose Speakers.....
Bose speakers are great for the true quality speaker companies who now offer inexpensive excellent sounding products & make them look & sound like what they are - mass marketed junk. Elac, PSB, Paradigm, Polk & many others all make gre...
God doesn't need to know what time it is.
A watch keeps time. A Rolex is a piece of jewelry that also keeps time.  Some folks like to wear jewelry, some like to look at appreciate it & some do both. You can buy a decent watch that keeps better time than a Rolex for under $100 & ...
Are Harbeth the only warm and euphonic speakers in town ?
From what I’ve read, you might give a listen to the new KLH Five or their new 2 way version. Probably pretty warm sounding & also have better bass than any of the other speakers mentioned in this discussion if that’s a feature important to you.
Improvement in Musicality for home theater system
I did just what Carlsbad described & it’s works well.  I have an Anthem 7 channel receiver & got a good tubed integrated amp & even new better main speakers. Sounds great watching movies ( everything on) or w/ 2 channel music , just ma...
Amir and Blind Testing
Great topic. I too agree it can take a long time to really appreciate & understand what a certain component is doing or how it sounds. Often, once you get used to that new sound, it becomes our new standard & how we think it "should"sound....
