Who R U? Wow,Another thread I can't believe I've missed! I'm a 35 year old wholesale fine wine salesman in DC. I'm single but live with the love of my life in our brand new condo in downtown DC. I've been on Audiogon for about 4 years I think, if not longe...
integrated amp for totem dreamcatcher monitors I'd recommend a used Bryston B-60. I've seen them on here lately for as low as $650, making them one of the best deals in used audio. It was my first "real" amp and it still brings back fond memories, even as I've descended into serious tube lunacy.
Green Mountain Audio Calypso Though I have no doubt is sounds fantastic, it would never be allowed in my home for aesthetic reasons.
DK Design Group X-Dream - wow Grazie.
DK Design Group X-Dream - wow How absurd is it to produce a $3K integrated amp and then only have $25K speakers to match with it? I would think something more in line price-wise with the amp.
Which Hi-end monitor for near field listening I love my regular Micro Utopias, they just disappear, are super transparent, and have surprisingly good bass. Best of all they're easy to drive, I'm using 18 watts with no problems.
What was/is the heaviest weight amp you herd/own Tripper,Got you beat. My abovementioned 90lb amp gets me 18 glorious watts!

What was/is the heaviest weight amp you herd/own My current KR Audio Antares VA300 is 90 incredibly awkward lbs!
Cayin 15A and 17A Review I highly recommend getting some decent cables to really hear what your player is doing. They don't have to be expensive, there are many good choices under $100, and just about anything will sound better than patch cord believe me!
When audiophiles visit for a listening session Cello,True and funny!
Analogue volume control on CDP Levinson No. 39, The Resolution Audio players, and I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting.
When audiophiles visit for a listening session Thanks for an amusing tongue in cheek thread. It's been a bit dull around here lately, thanks for the humor. Let's see some more fun stuff guys.
Whither the Great Designers? Keith Herron is certainly making a strong case for himself. He has a ways to go, but he's off to a great start.
good recordings of Bob Marley I have MFSL 180gm lp's of both Exodus and Catch A Fire and they both sound great, with the slight edge going to Exodus. I also have an original Island Records lp of Kaya which also sounds very good. Happy listening! |
