tube amps or amps between $1000 and $2000
Well since you have a BAT preamp how about a used VK-60? Assuming of course that you like your preamp.
Dartzeel amp lives up to hype
Sounds good Snook, but you should post your system with some pics so we can all drool. Happy listening!
Used Preamp for $2000 to $3000
I second Krell_man, I also have a Herron VTSP-1A and if you can find one under $2K go for it! It's a great sounding, lively but neutral preamp.
I'm SHOCKED literally .
It sounds like static to me. This time of year I always touch one of the metal supports of my rack before I touch any gear, to drain the charge.
Wheres my week link????
I think your issue might be your source, most universal players are jacks of all trade but masters of none. It sounds like the system you heard had a dedicated redbook cd player, you might consider auditioning one in your system and see if it make...
Krell F.B.I.
Your link doesn't work.
Again, recommended CDPs for $2K-$3.5K
Teejay I don't think the EMC has a volume control. I would say try one of the Cary's, in your range you could get a used 303/300 or a used 306/200 both of which have remote volume control. Another idea might be the AA Prima, but I'm not 100% certa...
Why do you never near anything about Spectral
It's because they refuse to provide reviewers with samples. When HP reveiwed the DM360 amp a few years ago he had to borrow it from a reader as Spectral wouldn't give him one. However the UK distributor has given some review samples to HiFi+ magaz...
Volume Control Conrad Johnson DR-1
It's likely that the Classe remote was meant to control an integrated amp or preamp as well as a cd player, hence the volume controls. However if the DR-1 is just a transport as you say it wouldn't have a volume control as it would need to output ...
What is the lowest LOMC you guys know of???
I just realized I misread/misundertood the post. I was thinking "cheapest" LOMC hence the Denon rec. I doubt it's the lowest though, sorry.
I had my ear talked off about the synergy between.
Spectral, Avalon, and MIT used to market a system they called 2C3D, using Eidelons with Spectral amp and preamp amd MIT cables. I don't remember the source but I would imagine Wadia would be as good as any. 2C3D stands for 2 channel, 3 dimensional.
Lived up to or beyond the hype for 2005.
My speakers, JMlabs Micro-Utopias. I never knew monitors could sound this good!
what is the best deal you ever got on audiogon
I picked up a pair of Sonus Faber Grand Piano's for $1400 and if that wasn't a good enough deal already I later traded them for a pair of Alon Lotus SE MkIII's and then later traded those for my current JMlabs Micro-Utopias with matching stands! S...
Glenn Croft Integrated
Croft integrated have been reviewed several times in HiFi+ magazine. Their website is www.hifiplus.com, you should be able to research what issues the reveiws were in and then perhaps buy the relevant back issues. If you do so you may find yoursel...
Sonus Faber Musica intergrated amp users feedback
Well if he'serious then he should loan you a Musica to use for a couple of weeks in a home trial. That would make your trip worth the while and give you a definitive answer.
