Lo-Fi, Mid-Fi or Hi-Fi- What's your system and why?
Lets see its my system so it's............my-fi! Best way I can think to describe it because it just makes me happy!
klipschorns, they kick ass for sure
Wow people need to relax a bit we're talking speakers here not politics! And tomtab you should throw some tubes at those bad boys, perhaps something vintage to complement the history like a Dynaco St-70 or old McIntosh or Fischer amp or something....
What's happened to Taters ?
Noooooooooooooo.............don't say that!   Honestly other than his constant attacks on rap music I didn't really mind him but perhaps the mods gave him a talking to? Or he gave rap another chance and emerged a changed man? Who can really say......
Amps which are Great, but either Unknown or Underpriced
Another shout out for Deja Vu Audio, handmade tube gear that sounds great and is ultra reliable.Great value for money relatively speaking and great people to deal with.
Supratek or Rogue?
Joseph if you put @ in front of each of their usernames Audiogon will send them a message notification. As I said before keep in mind their messages are 5 years old.
Supratek or Rogue?
@hicham Considering the post was from 5 years ago you may not hear back but who knows. The new format seems to be leading to lots of ppl responding to very old threads.
Best KT88s (specifically for VAC Auricle Musiblocs)
If you're looking for more warmth try an amp that uses EL34's and get a set of Gold Lion KT-77's. It's a great sounding tube that was far better than PSvane, not the regular EL34 I tried a pricey vintage PSvane Philips reproduction tube, great pac...
Opinions Please: Daily proliferation, several dealer/distributor ads,..
I would agree but in my opinion it's fine when dealers post used or demo gear a lot of those ads are good gear at good prices. But what really annoys me and many others it seems, is the constant relisting even of used gear. As someone who scans Ne...
Upgrade my Sonic Frontiers Line-2, or buy a used solid state Pre?
I would imagine a Line-2 upgraded for $1K today would probably smoke anything you can buy around $2500 and I would certainly personally suggest staying with tubes for your preamp. Pretty sure the Line-2 is well built with a large outboard power su...
Your picks of mediocre or lousy vocals with great musicians!
The Grateful Dead and Phish all members.
recommend a NAS?
Hi Rob I just recently picked up a Synology DS214 play and a pair of Western Digital Red 4TB hard drives for about $575 total from Amazon. The NAS has been fantastic utterly reliable and my files stream much better fewer dropouts and also sound be...
Scotch? No thanks. Whats the best Vodka.?
If you think vodka tastes like nothing, and most do, try Boyd & Blair Potato vodka from western PA. It has amazing texture and a hint of butterscotch on the nose, really great and atypical vodka.
How to connect Tidal and an external USB drive to my Audio System without wifi
umn if you can connect the Bluesound to your router via ethernet or usb and then connect a NAS drive up to the router, you should be in business. You would be with Sonos and I'm assuming the Bluesound works basically the same.
How to connect Tidal and an external USB drive to my Audio System without wifi
Sonos works fine with Tidal which is not hi-rez but is lossless. It will not do hi-rez recording but that's not an issue for me. However in the scenario above other units can be substituted for the Sonos. I would assume the Bluesound Node could pr...
Opinions Needed!
As someone said you should not be having to replace the small signal tubes, the 12ax7 and 12au7's twice a year, or even once a year for that matter. Small signal tubes should last a very long time, my own amp uses 3 6SN7's up front, different amp ...
