What is the first album you purchased, and do you still have it?
@lowrider57 well my parents had one which I used but by the time I really became interested in music all my friends had tapedecks and starting to get  CD players. And I got a TT later in life Rega P3 but never loved it.
What is the first album you purchased, and do you still have it?
I didn't have a turntable as a kid, my parents had one, and got into tapes in my early teens, mostly Dead bootlegs. So my first album would have to be the first CD I bought, which I bought with no CD player to play it on. "Standard Time: The Resol...
Your Forever Pieces? What and Why?
I've had my amp since 2005 and preamp since 2006 both custom tubed pieces from Deja Vu Audio. Recapped the amp about 5 years ago and it sounds better than ever I don't see replacing either anytime soon.

@pipedream My friend @mcslipp ’s comment about smelling weed was not intended to be slanderous or critical. The increasing legality of weed means you tend to smell it many places, even audio shows. No one is implying your room was some smoke-fille...
Decisions, decisions (upgrades to digital front end)
I am personally of the opinion that streamers and Dacs are ideally kept separate. Especially streaming wirelessly I would think that would be a lot of additional digital noise in close proximity to the audio signal. You have a very nice setup alre...
Cable info
I wouldn't spend your money on cables,  instead put it towards an outboard Dac which will improve the sound of your Node by an order of magnitude.
My first Tube Amplifier
My first stereo tube amp was also my first deal on Audiogon a c-j Premiere 11a.  I never really liked the amp it didn’t sound much different from my previous SS integrated. I sold it pretty quickly and I’ve had many tube amps after that and I’ll n...
drag me into the digital age!!
Hi azjake this is actually pretty easy, leaving aside the digital to digital converter, you can just connect the Aries to the Kitsune DAC with either a coax digital interconnect or USB. Your choice but USB does usually let you use higher sampling ...
Tonearms: Ripoff?
jollytinker gave me a good idea I think I'm going to start going on political forums and start arguments about cables. :p
Gold Lion KT77 tubes for Primaluna Amp - a few questions
I will say all my GL KT-77s have sounded great but the tubes  I've bought from Upscale have been the most reliable and lasted the longest.

@Trevah I really liked how your largest model, Krypton maybe, I bet they would sound even better with higher quality electronics behind them. The Benchmark sounded fine but I am sure their ceiling is higher.

One amusing moment in the Odyssey room wandered in lights were off weird techno music playing the room lit but little lantern things. The combo of darkened room the weird lighting and clicks and chirps of "music" made me almost burst out laughing....

@mapman I also really liked the Fritz Carerra the imaging was spectacular and nice implementation of the Be tweeter it wasn't bright at all. Very natural tonality top to bottom and great bang for the buck.
Trumpeteer Roy Hargrove passes at 49.
Agreed an awful loss and at such a young age RIP Roy.
