| Bass Driver Size - how much better is an extra inch? I went from two way monitors with a 6" woofer to two way monitors with a 8" woofer. Not only is there more bass but the quality of the bass changed. It seems more tuneful and resonant for lack of a better description. | |

| High end stereo preamp vs mc preamp? The answer is no there is no multi-channel HT preamp that's going to sound as good as a stereo preamp. You could get a really good stereo preamp with a HT bypass and do multi-channel that way giving you the best of both worlds. | |

| Please identify these NOS 6550s Obviously one of those tubes is a GE that's the brand. I am not sure on the other tube. If you're trying to assemble a matched quad you need to get them tested and see how closely their parameters match. |
