Need Balanced DAC with optical and coaxial inputs for 2 channel home theater system As you have already seen, you're going to get lots of opinions and recommendations. Honestly, there are so many good sounding DACs out there, you're just going to have to narrow it down based on reviews and take a leap of faith, or buy something n...
parasound zDac owners - quick question Mine hums, and it's definitely audible from a foot or so away. I emailed Parasound about it. Richard Schramm attributed it to the toroidal transformer; he said some hum is normal, but it will be worse depending on the power in the home, dimmers, e...
Question for Behringer DEQ2496 gurus Thanks much for the response and the links. I am not in front of the unit, but will check the I/O settings when I get home. Jon
Thiel CS3.6 with issues: take the chance? Another vote here for passing on that pair. The market on used 3.6s has dropped over the past few years (I overpaid for mine six years ago). For a few hundred more dollars, you can probably find a pair that is fully functioning. Good luck.
And opinions/experience w/Parasound ZDAC? I got a very nice deal and am quite pleased. Planned to use it as a temporary replacement for a Sony 5400, but will probably have it for a while.
Is there a Rosetta Stone for digital speak? Hi, Admranger:No intention to be patronizing--just wanted to be sure you were not going to waste time upsampling low rez music.
Is there a Rosetta Stone for digital speak? Hi admranger. You wrote: "my cpu is smoking hot up converting all my iTunes songs to a better format so I can see if my old ears can tell a difference." Just a heads-up that if your "iTunes songs" were originally imported as mp3 files, you will no...
Parsound ZDAC kind of blowing my mind... The M1 also was on my short list, but I got a great deal on the ZDAC, so I went for it. I hope you enjoy your new toy. It really is amazing what can be accomplished sound-wise these days for not a whole lot of money.
Parsound ZDAC kind of blowing my mind... The volume control is only for the headphone outputs.
Parsound ZDAC kind of blowing my mind... I am definitely that guy who falls asleep if the system sounds good. Waking up always scares the crap out of me, though, and the system seems really loud, even when it's not. Weird.
Parsound ZDAC kind of blowing my mind... Yes Teajay, your positive review was one of several that led me to try it. Thanks again.
Inexpensive USB DAC Bmdduck, The things that impress me most about the ZDAC are how clean it is, i.e., no digital hash at all that I can hear, how nicely extended it is from top to bottom, and how much more of the recording I'm hearing than before. I hear more of the...
Inexpensive USB DAC Not sure if you bought an inexpensive DAC yet, but the Parasound ZDAC is most defintely worth investigating. I have only had it a week or so, but it is a keeper. I always hate the "good for the money" qualifiers on gear, but this thing is stupidly...
Inexpensive USB DAC Just decided to take a chance on a Parasound ZDAC. Will post my impressions when I have had a chance to listen for a while.
Rega Saturn or Sony XA5400: Sound or features? Hey Jim...I definitely was not implying you were crazy with my Prozac remark. I was actually joking and referring to fact that this hobby can drive a person crazy--it certainly has driven me nuts at times.Sorry if you missed the humor or if I hit ... |
