Poor Customer Service I did have the Line Magnetic distributor flag all my ads when I tried to sell the new gear I bought from them 2 years later. Spent thousands wanted to make a change so listed the gear that I bought from them. I got a few very rude and insulting e...
What is wrong with my system? Loudspeakers are old enough to have capacitor drift and ferrofluids drying up. This would cause sound like you mention. Rebuild loudspeakers or upgrade.
Class D amps seem poised to take over. Then what? I use almost all types of amplifiers and class D can sound great if implemented properly. I do at times use a tube preamplifier with class D you get that warmth and lite from within quality that tubes do so well with the low noise massive dynamics...
Horn speakers , high efficiency but not “shouty” I have built over 100 full-range driver systems. What you are describing is a characteristic that they can have if cabinets are too lively. All lack extension on top and bottom =unless giant. I would consider a bass horn system or multiple large ...
Problem Solvers Needed-Got my New XOs installed and am worried.... Unhook tweeters from the network use a multimeter to test DC of tweeters to see if coils are open this would be the 1st thing I would try. Next, I would continuity test network to see if it has an issue even experts can mess up. Both are easy to d...
Pulled from old theater IPC made some good stuff use a mono converter and enjoy.
Problem Solvers Needed-Got my New XOs installed and am worried.... Are the tweeters connected? is any sound coming out of them? Did you make a mistake in installing networks? Did the new xover factor in insertion losses?
I feel bad for GenX'ers that missed out on the 60s and 70s. Why cant modern people enjoy the music and music history of the past? After all, I’m sure you’ve listened to some music that was written 100s of years before you existed. Your post shows a closed-minded viewpoint and I feel sorry for you to have i...
Paper Cones in HiFi? With loudspeakers, it's the total design and how the parts are utilized to achieve the designer's end goals whatever those maybe focusing on one aspect of a transducer's design is moot.
Recommendations for speakers that sound great at lower volume levels. Since loudspeakers can range from about 80db- 1 watt to 112db -1 watt, I would still say that over 100db is high eff, 89-99 med, below 88 low eff. If it's not this then the term high eff would have no meaning at all.
Speaker magnets An FC mag puts heat around the VC something you don't want. It adds needless complexity and for some strange reasons sounds the best powered by a Tungar DC power supply. The older FC designs were overbuilt but I wonder if the heating-cooling cycle...
Horn speakers , high efficiency but not “shouty” TAD horn is designed for a TAD driver its phase plug improves loading for such why it exists the problem is folks using the TAD horn for non TAD drivers.
Recommendations for speakers that sound great at lower volume levels. High efficiency is over 100db 1 watt 1-meter omega is not a high eff loudspeaker.
All NEW Klipsch Jubilee Horn Speakers !... Game Changer ?... I use axi I greatly prefer using with a proper tweeter over DSP EQ to get high frequency. A cd horn is also not the best for home use it requires EQ to function and the treble it does generate is based on hom generation.
klipshorn speakers K horn will play loud and if they are not to his liking hold value on resale and if he does like can be the last loudspeaker one needs I know more than a few running K horns till the grave. But I do see many logic fallacies posted above maybe con... |
