Home theatre and Musical Experience
Steve, I recently took my first plunge into HT. I've been a audiophile for 20 years but was always nervous about making the move to HT, because music still remains 75-80% of my listening. I bought a Proceed PAV with Classe CA-200 and Classe CAV-75...
Legacy anyone?
I've been following Legacy since 1987 when they were called Reel to Real Design. I've bought 3 pair of speakers from them over the course of time. I would say they aren't what they used to be, but success tends to do that. When you put so much mon...
Point of Diminishing Returns?
I haven't recieved any negative response Albert, I'll give you some positive to help offset it. Why would someone give someone negative feedback for making a friendly suggestion? Albert's writing style was not insulting or nasty, c'mon boys and gi...
"Tweaks" vs. Audiophiles
The most effective tweak I've yet found is also the cheapest. Close your eyes, breath deep, relax and enjoy. I've played with other toys with varying degrees of success, but man, when I turn the lights off, take a deep breath and close my eyes.......
Point of Diminishing Returns?
I agree with Argent. By buying the 9000ES and selling the old dvd you'd be out less than a grand. If you still have a couple grand burning a hole in your pocket, you could look at upgrading other things, like the amp or speakers. You say your quit...
Buy a CD now or wait new technology
It is probably a battle against the 'Sony' name, Jadem6. Many audiophiles seem to be having a problem with the name 'Sony' even mentioned with ML et al.
Help out a Young Audiophile
Sounds like a 'must see' David99. How did it end?
What's your profession? Age?
Hi, 40 year old mechanic supervisor in the phamacuetical industry. System list at $25k paid $10k. Chstob, if the commodities you're brokering are drugs, that might explain the power cords. Be careful though, Pcc is a cop right above you.
Help out a Young Audiophile
Tireguy, I hope you get back on your feet soon. You can't 'work' all the time, can you?!!
Be consistent with brand?
I agree with Sugarbrie, I've been down both roads and I think it's a synergestic thing between components. If you check with most audiophiles, I would think this applies to cables and components. I don't know many that have components from the sam...
Room too small - any suggestions
Any chance to knock out a wall and make the room bigger? I would probably work on improving the listening room itself before trying any more gear. If you can't adjust the room you probably need monitiors instead of full range speakers. Something a...
Who R U?
Sounds like your living a charmed life Patmatt, I'm envious that you make a living thru our hobby. Must be great, and welcome aboard.
Why pay "more" for USED??
I believe you, I have seen other items on Ebay sell for more than list. I think Ebay is a sellers market, I know when I sell I'm going there. It's incredible to me that people obviously don't research their purchases. I guess to some money comes t...
Bi-amp with same sort of amp?
I forgot to mention the crossover. This probably plays a big factor in whether the biamp will sound good or not. Some speakers bass crosses over to the mids at 200 or 300 hz. This might be too high, where the difference in amps is more audible. I ...
Bi-amp with same sort of amp?
I think it depends on whether you are biamping vertically or horizontally. For vertical biamping (bridging amp to mono) I would recommend staying with the exact same amps. If you are talking horizontal biamping, one amp fo bass the other for the m...
