Best Tubed Preamp For A Warm, Rich Sound, Yet Still Detailed and Agile There are several in this chain who have pointed you in the direction of Cary's SLP-05 ..... well, I'm hear to tell you they are right. I'm curious as to if all the folks recommending the Cary SLP-05 have read this comment from the OP: The ampl...
ARC Ref 5se inferior to LS28? Anyone from Audio Research able to shed some light on the question? That will not address the question either. Where do you think the "rumors" that the LS28 is 'superior' to the Ref 5SE are coming from? That's like asking the fox if he will eat a...
Best Tubed Preamp For A Warm, Rich Sound, Yet Still Detailed and Agile Just curious, what caused you to leave the Model 6's behind, and what did you replace them with? The never ending quest for audio nirvana. I believe that I replaced the Model 6's with a BAT VK-75SE that I then had modified by Bob Backert of RHB ...

Classic 3 VPI My Prime gives a small squeak upon start up with no assistance.I've gotten into the habit of giving the platter a little help when pushing the start button, and there is no noise now.Just a slight clockwise push on the platter while engaging the m...
Pass X 250.8 or Pass 30.8 question? I would think that you would be better off with the X250.8 because according to Stereophile, these speakers are no easy load for an amplifier. Here is the full measurements page from that review: http://www.stereophile.com/content/martinlogan-mont...
Best Tubed Preamp For A Warm, Rich Sound, Yet Still Detailed and Agile VAC Renaissance mk III would probably fill the bill nicely, very hard to find on the used market though.
Strange classified responses @stereo5 : All responses are from recently created accounts, with zero feedback and ask variations of "why are you selling?" Selling is not much fun anymore. Lots more tire-kickers and low-ballers than in years past. It's part of the territory...
ARC Ref 5se inferior to LS28? There are not a few people that will buy something that costs 50K who would not touch exact same item were it priced at 25K . Very true. There are a LOT of folks out there with FU money.VAC’s top of the line products were less than $20K each until...
I knew we were different Frissons....skin orgasms? Well, alright then.Interesting article, thanks for posting.I noticed that they have a photo of a vinyl LP playing to accompany the article. I'm not trying to start another digital/analog debate though.
My Audio Research experience thazeldean, you just lost all creditability. Now I think ARC, the dealer, or whoever probably kept your tubes because your a whiner. +1. Some are just born to complain.
My Audio Research experience All I'm asking is which car would you buy next time? Well, duh, obviously I would buy car B the next time. There is nothing more important in a car than a properly functioning CD Player/Radio!!Alrighty then, I think that is enough with the car a...
ARC Ref 5se inferior to LS28? I agree with some of what @minorl says, especially when he talks about ARC holding it's resale value, and no one being forced to buy them.I do not think that Pass Labs is in the same turnover ballpark though.Nelson Pass' .8 series is basically his...
Non-transferable warranties? Bryston is the exception. Some, like CODA will offer a 10 year warranty to the original owner, and a 5 year transferable warranty. However, for the most part, very few manufacturers offer a transferable warranty. |
