Bernie, in hindsight, you are correct, I should have been more specific. I did not realize that someone could misinterpret the digital to analog covertor chip to mean the power supply. Live and learn. I also agree with you on the importance of the...

Thanks Al, You read me correctly. I gave up on Pettyofficer....either English is not his first language, or he has been drinking excessively as Bill suggests.Either way, I again apologize to Mikedaniels, and I hope he took my original suggestion t...

09-20-09: ViridianI use tube gear and am unable to have children, so yes, I would say that there is a definite correlation.Viridian, LMAO! Wait a minute.....that may explain why my children each have 12 fingers.......

Al, it appears as if Ben is replying to Pettyofficer's 2nd post on 9/15/09. I give Ben credit if he can read through all that stuff, he's a better man than I am. I saw a wall of hieroglyphics and just gave up.I think you cleared it up well Al, and...

Thanks for further clarifying what I was alluding to Al. I'm glad you were able to understand my interpretation of 'power supply'. Always good to have an EE handy to straighten out miscommunications. ;DCheers,John
Analog maintenance
I follow a similar path as you, though for my final step I do use a static eliminator device, the Walker Audio Talisman. I also will second Elinor's advise of switching to the rice paper sleeves.Cheers,John

Thanks Ben and Al. FWIW, you are right on the money Al, that is what I meant, but it's like pissing into the wind with some folks. It seems to me that the only excercise that Pettyofficer is getting is jumping to conclusions. ;DHopefully he'll swi...

Next step: tube pre or tube power amp?
Orpheus10, I don't disagree that a tube preamp may be the best way to start, to see if one likes the tube sound. However, your second statement makes no sense to me. One could say the exact same thing about a tube preamp, that to get the best out o...
Next step: tube pre or tube power amp?
09-12-09: Jw94055One more time, a tube pre will give you the advantage of tubes without the heat and cost of a tube power. One more time, a tube pre is a good starting point and will give you some tube flavor. A tube amp will provide more tube son...

Why don't gold based cable fans try Synergistic
Frank, Silkworms are selling at a good discount because the Silkworm + is now out from KCI.Jim, here are just a few manufacturers who have some form of gold in the conductors. The difference in price has a lot to do with how much gold is in the ca...
Why don't gold based cable fans try Synergistic
Why don't gold based cable fans try Synergistic Because we are happy with gold. I have tried many, many cables, far to many to start naming names in the last 20 years or so. I even heard some SR cables years ago when they first came out, and was u...
