Tubes/SS Power Amps? @Shakedown, I'm running a Cary SLP-98P F1 with a Coda Model 11 amp (100 wpc pure Class A). The 15.0 might be about the closest current offering to the 11.
Tubes/SS Power Amps? 04-15-13: TimlubI am also fond of the newer Coda amps with a good tubed pre, I've heard very musical combinations there.I am fond of the older Coda amps with a good tubed preamp. :)
Interconnect with great dynamics and bass slam , Maybe he has enough name recognition now that he doesn't need to run auctions on Audiogon anymore. I'd like to try a pair of the Silkworm +'s too. ARC VSI 60 vs Cary SLI 80 or BAT 300xse ARC VSI 60 may do it, but I highly recommend looking for a VAC Avatar Super integrated amp. I thought it sounded wonderful with my Parsifal Encores.

Hi-Fi Fuses - SNAKE OIL? - or something in it? 04-12-13: LaceeIt's a mind set. That pretty much sums up this hobby. If you don't believe that you will hear a difference, you will not. If you do believe that you will hear a difference, you will. What really matters is what's between the ears.
Klyne 6PE: comments ? Congrats! Please keep us posted on your findings.
Need help in deciding Glenn, both are fairly easy for tube rolling. The BAT VK-3iX uses (4) 6DJ8/6922/7308 family of tubes in the line stage and (2) 6V6's in the power supply section, all can be rolled. The SE versions of the BAT use the 6H30 tube, which cannot be roll...
Cardas Golden Cross no longer offered by Cardas ? Well another thing that I have noticed before, is that cable companies tend to listen to their critics more than their fans. Take Shunyata for example, when they first came out with their power cords and the Hydra, the flavor was very rich, warm a...
