Recommendations for IC and speaker cable
Cerious Graphene and the older Cerious Nano.  Discovery Essence and Essential at current used prices are excellent.  I currently use them all.  I like Mapleshade speaker cables a lot too.

one of the most interesting points you refer to, is that many want their system to make lousy recordings sound good, or make all recordings sound the same...as opposed to your system presenting the sound as recorded... 
CD players that make for a great transport
As for DVD players, I found the Lexicon RT-20 a great CD transport and the Sony DVP-9000ES not very good...not sure if the RT-10 uses the same transport 
The best separates between $2500-3000. Moving on from the original Rogue Sphinx Intg..
I believe the 300.2 is a more powerful version of the 150.2 but that the 100.2 is an entirely different amp.  I always liked the 100.2, never heard the other two

Nordost has been around a long time.  Someone must be buying their cables. Any idea how many of their top of the line stuff they sell? How many $40,000 pairs of speaker cables are sold in a year? Transparent Audio makes some great low and mid pric...

I particularly like when there is a response asking for a lot of information before a recommendation can be made, then nothing after the OP lists extensive info

is there ever a correlation to cost and price with luxury items for the wealthy ?

not to mention the many who do not have to choose...they can do the $4k room treatment, a batch of $10k-40k cables, and $100k+ components...without concern with how much these items cost to produce...

and the markup on hangars can be outrageous, yet people buy them...

there are many expensive cables I do not like and many inexpensive ones I like very much, but I have never heard a $2k cable that didn't sound better than a coat hangar, regardless of metal used in the hangar...
