fortunately most of these products can be tried either free or for minimal cost and decide yourself after listening in your own system...

they do know what they are doing, but they also have to sell and do business...and they can't alienate their dealers by recommending products and brands the dealer doesn't carry...

I know some do...when I purchased my first Classe amp, the manual recommended an upgrade power cord...

the manufacturers do not want to include expensive isolation devices,  so that the customer can choose which brand/type, if any, they prefer...I like the Mapleshade maple boards and brass cones under my equipment...

I've been very happy with the M Green products on sides and ceiling and behind listening position, but like the wooden stools best behind speakers...
