My list of seller red flags
there are many lengthy threads here about second systems, like in bedroom or office
My list of seller red flags
I’m often shocked at how little or how much an item can sell for, even items that are fairly regularly listed...incredible variance...
Should I be able to hear a 4Hz difference in my speakers?
I had a few friends own the Forest Sig and the Hawk, and while terrific speakers, neither puts out meaningful deep bass out into the room at volume...they probably put out 28hz at  - 3 or 6 db, at low volume a foot away from the driver...
Should I be able to hear a 4Hz difference in my speakers?
neither speaker is putting out 28 hz or 32 hz at full volume to the listening position, so many other factors at play...properly set up and with good room acoustics the Forest bass will sound better and deeper...
My list of seller red flags
If I’m showing it to a friend I say new car, if I’m selling it to someone I don’t know I do not say new...the Audiogon rating system states an item can only be called New if it is in a factory sealed box...I always refer to my newly purchased used...

agree, items listed as New, then the description says only used 20 hours...
Need help on a CD player
Cambridge periodically offers great prices on refurbished 851C. Remember too that the reviews of the 851C were as a $1999 player when released in 2012

the point i was trying to make hilde45,  is that one sub can sound great, and if you don't have hum issues, the mono blocks are not an issue...I have mono blocks and one REL and am very happy with the results...
How to connect monoblocks to a single REL sub with ONE RCA input
REL always recommends 2 subs for sonic reasons (not just more          bass). The only reason they state on their website for not using 1 sub with mono blocks is the greater chance of hum

What HiFi ratings are also cost related not absolute. I think many didn’t like the 851C because it was so different than, rather than an evolution, of their beloved 840C
How to connect monoblocks to a single REL sub with ONE RCA input
REL makes an upgraded version of the Speakon cable that is included with the sub...I've had this setup about a year with no issues...but I am not technically knowledgeable so can't advise
How to connect monoblocks to a single REL sub with ONE RCA input
I have a single REL sub connected to balanced mono-blocks as Al suggests and it works fine, I don't even need to connect the ground. While REL recommends against a single sub with mono blocks, due to hum issues, maybe I just got lucky...there is l...

the CD6006 is terrific for the money...for $1000 I would (and did) get a used Cambridge CXC and a Denafrips Ares ll. Your Node will sound a lot better too...
My list of seller red flags
I would much rather pay $927 than $1000.
New Yamaha integrated amps
website doesn't mention new CD Players, anyone know if those might be coming soon too?
