if the shop said the transport is fine, but it doesn't work properly, find another shop...

that Monster can degrade the sound of your very good electronics...I use similar Monster’s with my home theater and computer, so I’m not an anti-Monster guy...but your gear is too good...

Node 2i use with external DAC
the 2i will benefit from a better DAC, but is still ultimately limited as a source, so I wouldn't spend big money on a DAC...maybe a Bifrost or Gungnir, or Denafrips Ares ll

I've also had good experiences with two CXC units...everything I read says the V1 and V2 are sonically identical

I've long preferred Cerious GE and Matrix with various Pass and First Watt...the Matrix really is a great upgrade...agree with ozzy about the full loom of Matrix

I think the results can be system dependent...but when I used Transparent Audio cables I agreed with their upgrade advice of first source to pre, then speaker cables, then pre to amp...

since this thread first appeared I have acquired an Aria Integrated, and based on mine a friend purchased a pair of Aria mono blocks to power much more expensive speakers, and the Arias are simply outstanding...
