Transport - Dac , matching question. I have never heard these terms before ... time domain ... and frequency domain. Can you point to some website or article so that I can read up on them?
Tubes for Bottlehead Foreplay For those on here who may be able to advise, they would need to know which tube(s) types you are using. That is, are they 6S7 or 6922 or 12AX7 - there are different recommendations by type.
Using 2 spades on 1 amp post Hooking them both up will slightly change the sound of both cables as all the measurements ... resistance/capacitance and inductance will change. It may get better - it may get worse. You have to try it, as it will not harm anything.
VPI 19 MK III , which L/O cartridge? I have used only the Glider with very good results in tracking ability, frequency response and soundstaging.
I have a general question about surround sound. Just a clarification ... I am not enslaved to 2 channel, or mono - not sure what I said to give that impression. I indeed have a surround system and listen and view in multi-channel. I also listen to 2 channel. When I first installed everything, a...
Recommendations on mid-fi speakers I would suggest adding another speaker line to audition ... Vandersteen - maybe the 2's?
I have a general question about surround sound. The hallambience can be much more than hinted at IMO. As my system has "matured" with room treatments, cables, power-line conditioning, equipment isolation, speaker placement, tube selection etc ,,, hall ambience has come out to an astounding level...
Biamping question... Nor sure how identical they will sound tonally ... but you also have to make sure that they amplify he signal the same amount for any given input, If they do not, you will accentuate one or the other and sound will be louder on one than the other ...
Best "on wall" speakers VSMs by Vandersteen are superb.
Separation; D from A in power, where does DAC go? Just a clarification to leoinstereo ... if you make it a 30 amp circuit (a good idea) it must be a minimum of 10 gauge wire ... 20 amp would be a minimum of 12 gauge ... 15 amp a minimum of 14 gauge. You can always put more wire however ,,, in my ...
2 speakers, 1 cable, silly, but do I have options? I am confused ... at one point you say "ONE (one positive and one negative)" ... which would be a total of TWO conductors, and then at another point you say "2 wires wound in EACH side of the run. I was wondering if I can split the two cables woun...
Audioquest Cheetah- Anyone? I auditioned them in my home and my impression is that the DBS system may help shorten break-in and hold the dielectric for systems used infrequently, but, that it does not do anything for the sound otherwise. As far as the cables themselves, they...
BAT VK 5i and tubes, how to chosse? You may think I am joking here, but I am not. I have had good luck with Sylvania/Phillips JAN 6922 which you can buy from PartsExpress.com for $7 each.
Anybody Heard the Vandersteen 5A'S I do not think you will give up any coherency moving to the Vandersteen's. They are unbelievably coherent.
I have a general question about surround sound. The thing is, when you get your 2-channel right, you do feel enveloped by the music - in the correct way. That is up to us to discover the tweaks (room treatments etc) that get us there. With multi-channel, you are at the mercy of the mixing engin... |
