if replace stock kt88 to el34 tubes , help
op a noob with 3 posts, but plenty cocky, despite asking dumb-ass question without providing knowledgeable people here with critical info to properly answer off to a really nice start 👍
Looking for thoughts on Sonus Faber speakers
the kef r series will have a more overtly forward treble presentation, and a relatively 'sucked back' midrange than the upper s-f's -- not sure how bass will compare, that depends alot on setup and room interaction
"warm" solid state integrated amplifier
i purposefully did not include the luxman on my short list of top notch warm sounding integrateds, as in my recent experience (a borrowed 590x class a/b unit, for about 6 weeks) the sound was very nice, quite sophisticated, extended but not to my ...

Different R2R DACs
op my 2 cents as follows - harbeth c7 es3 is a warm toned speaker, with a full mid bass, you have done well to use solid state electronics, though i think purifi modules’ sound tend to ’flatten out’ the sound some, and given this, i would go wit...
Looking for thoughts on Sonus Faber speakers
op sonus fabers qualify for the type of sound you seek past, higher level s-f’s were wonderful with classical and vocals, if they could be criticized, it was they would not ’boogie’ and sometimes smeared transients on more ’exciting’ music more...

https://canaryaudio.com/906.html yes, i see the spec for 5ar4 maybe they made an internal revision to the unit to run the stronger rectifier... best wait for their reply i don't have personal experience with canary gear, nor the 5y3 but i have ...
Best place to purchase a new Denafrips Pontus II
i am pretty sure it’ll be fine with the lumin, although i sold my lumin before this ’series 2’ dena stuff came out it is some compatibility issue only just with the node coax digital out, for 96k and above, the dena input circuit won’t read it - ...
New spec calling for 5AR4 instead of initial 5Y3 rectifier in CA-906
what is the unit? who made it? if it is a credible manufacturer (not diy or some frankenstein concoction) you are best off directing the question to the maker and await their reply imo asking your question without identifying the specific unit/ci...

Best SS Amp - Pass Labs X350.8 vs. Luxman M900u vs. Ayre VX-R Twenty
You think AYRE is easy to resell?? As somebody who owned multiple Ayre amps I can tell you that you are sadly mistaken if this is your belief. Any AYRE dealer will tell you the same thing. If ease of resale is high on your priority list I would a...
