good questions indeed, as per @soix question is what budget level for a system (and don’t forget the quality of the room/listening environment)under a grand for a system is quite challenging (despite what talking heads on youtube say)2-3 towards 5...

+1 @lewm good thing about 6sn7 and sl7 is there are many many makes and types, old and new, from many different places over the world, all with their own sound - but most sound quite good, some really excellentlots of choices, tube roller’s paradise!
