Crossover - hard to find for biamping I doubt you will get much value out of this configuration. Active biamping can be very rewarding with an active crossover and bipassing the passive ones in the speakers. Leaving them in, well all you are doing is combining amps.
Tidal class-action I'm no MQA fan: (1) end-to-end systems with a clear opportunity to turn it into DRM in the future; (2) end-to-end system that doesn't work - just check dropouts from MQA handshakes with various DACs...open standards that don't require some handsh...
Women Who Rock That "short list" comment, while probably intending to be humor, went out with Polish jokes. It's enough. Mia Zapata Polly Styrene Lita Ford All of Sleater Kinney, Luscious Jackson, jeez lots of bands
Some famous reviewers have atrocious listening rooms! IMHO audio gear reviews are mostly for the purposes of entertainment except where objective facts are provided as part of researching gear. That is not to denigrate as much as properly categorize the purpose. There are so few lukewarm, much less ...
Name 3 songs where audio quality and song quality completely align 18TB hard drive Compensating for something?

Name 3 songs where audio quality and song quality completely align Thanks all for the great lists to check out! I'll share: ---Lyle Lovett: If I Had a Boat ---Radiohead: Subterranean Homesick Alien ---Kraftwerk: Tour de France I agree most Pink Floyd is well recorded but unfortunately not (IMHO) their best...
Ripping CD's to hard drive Absolutely do NOT rip your CDs into MP3 or any other lossy format. That is a complete waste of your time relative to the cost of storage, unless you get paid at 1950s minimum wage. This is not a knock on anyone would listens to MP3s. But as a...
A SHOCKING DISCOVERY ABOUT DIGITAL AUDIO At least try to be coherent when spouting nonsense.
Beatles vs. Stones Yes to both.
Why Are We Breaking Our Brains? Well, one big difference between wine and audio is that the chemical composition provably differs from one wine or vintage to the next, whereas the composition of an audio signal, pre-speaker, is electrical and it does not vary based on the multit...
OMG - Room Acoustics are Critical - WAF be dam-ed!. that is a great idea for my Maggie 1.7is but I do not want to push my luck! They are already 2.7feet from the back wall and sound amazing. Just FYI, you will benefit from more distance from the back wall. If not possible, it's not. I have a ...
Budget amp that will give Magnepan 3.6Rs better depth of soundstage Mine are actively biamped with a Marchand crossover and a Classe CA-200 (treble, mid) and a Nakamichi PA7. Active biamping is really the way to use budget amps; Maggies are very easy because of the external crossovers. Look for an amp that doubl...
Network optimization for serious streamers It’s a fair point and I am not here to tell anyone what to do in their houses. Not everyone on either side is the same though. Sometimes newbies ask basic questions and the first answer is buy an audiophile switch or Ethernet regenerator, when t...
Network optimization for serious streamers I can’t argue with the theory of the electrical noise but wouldn’t, logically, a well designed streamer endpoint or DAC be able to defeat/reject that without the tweaks? Mostly, it seems to me, there is a lot of analog style logic applied to digi... |
