Ethernet Cables, do they make a difference?
Talking about just using my ears, isn't that what we are supposed to be doing in this hobby of ours. Can anyone say that they have listened to say three ethernet cables and one is made of copper, one of silver and one a cheap bit of wire and say t...
Ethernet Cables, do they make a difference?
I for one say thet yes they do make a difference, I have just replaced a 30 foot ethernet cable with one made with better materials and rfi and other screens. and I have to say I am very pleased with the results, the treble especially is less pron...
Thoughts on the most difficult instruments for speakers to reproduce?
(jmcgrogan2, you’re dead on about massed strings and digital. I did some compares and you’re right the difference is striking. Goes to show that dig, though getting very good, is not yet on par with vinyl). Sorry to disagree with you but have ...
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses
@amg56I I really don't see why someone who notices a difference a fuse makes is doing obviously silly things. Some people hear a difference and some people don't, I don't see why you should castigate someone for it.Maybe some people don't want to ...
External hard drives and sound quality
From my experience of external hard drives I have went for SSD drives because they produce far less jitter than the old platter type drives as they have no moving parts. Also I would use USB with a reclocker as that is also far superior to wireles...
Most resolving Speaker
I would go for ATC SCM 100 Active, up until 2 years ago that is what I used as my daily listen. Until I had to relocate and now I use headphones only and they are even more resolving but as we are talking about speakers the ATCs were the ones I lo...
Analog playback on computer.
@chakster Yes I get what you are saying about analogue being collectable and I do agree with that. But digital remastering of analogue no I cannot condone that because I have digital remasters of some of the Greatest recordings of the sixties in C...
Analog playback on computer.
@chakster    digital has no value! I.m sorry but I couldn't disagree more, I think we are all audiophiles and also record collectors. Why else would we buy recordings and also try to update the sound quallity on our equiptment when time and mon...
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses

We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses
Can someone please remind me what the topic of this thread was !!
Analog playback on computer.
"Analog playback on computer" - do you hear yourself ? If you have a sound card in your computer other than a DAC connected to it by USB then the sound card has to convert the digital signal by way of the DAC on the sound card and into the anal...
Analog playback on computer.
Analog playback on computer is a perversion if you have analog system standing near. @chakster.  Aw! come on really. Why do people go on the defensive when someone has the audacity to say they enjoy listening to difital copies of analogue media. I...
PC or Line Conditioner
Hi David,Have you ever thought of making your own power cord. I have and it saved me a fortune. As I live in the UK model no's and prices will obviously be different but to give you a ball park figure I recon I spent about £540.00 on the supplies ...
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses
I'm really upset now , that nice man who sold me that Gryphon Mikado Signature CD player must have forgotten to tell me it was badly designed.I must e-mail Mr. Rasussen right away !!!
MQA•Foolish New Algorithm? Vote!
It's a big no from me, I don't see why we need another algorithm promising audio gold and just filling the coffers of the big record companies. If the big companies would give us access to first generation copies then we could all see how much we ...
