What direction should the cable go?????? It's kinda hard to have the arrow point in the direction of the signal, considering we're talking about an AC signal. Unless you've interconnects with a shield, it should not make any audible difference which way they're connected.
Digital Rules Justicels -He could use any of the new hard-disk based PVRs, like TiVO, etc. There's pretty much nothing today that can't be stored/transmitted digitally in both a technically and economically feasible fashion.Cheers,JHunter
PC Challenge Test Results Gee, NBS praising NBS cables?? Then they MUST be good! ;-)
PC Challenge Test Results Sorry about the confusing responce to Asa - I'd noted who wrote what but that somehow got lost when posting. FYI, the paragraphs immediately following "1.", "2." and "3." are Asa's, as is the paragraph beginning "Well-intentioned . . .". All other...
PC Challenge Test Results In response to Asa’s comments1. I don't know many people with requisite experience in listening who also don't know that Purist cables, and particulary the Dominus line, are very expensive, relatively speaking. I’m not sure what the point of this...

How can power cords make a difference? Don't you think you guys are going over the line re: 702? You might disagree with him, but this evaluation of his motives, interests, personality is really uncalled for.
How can power cords make a difference? I've recently completed my PC test - results posted in a new thread.JHunter
brulee fails PC challenge Bruce -Interesting that I just posted the results of my own challenge! I don't see why it should take time for a PC to settle in, however, you might be able to keep one cord powering another (unused in the test) component and then switch it in; th...
Any cheap but good speakers with bass? You might - just might - be able to find a used pair of NHT 2.5is close to your price range; typically they go for maybe around $650? All the bass you could want, and the rest of the sound is pretty good, too.I also believe that NHT is closing out...
John Dunlavy On "Cable Nonsense" Bear -2 points: First, while you're new to Audiogon I've followed some of the many discussions on rec.audio.high-end between you and folks such as Dick Pierce and JJ. If I recall correctly, there was quite a thread involving the topic of system re...
John Dunlavy On "Cable Nonsense" Bear is up to his usual "debating" tactics. If decades+ of established acoustics methodology and all the evidence (from scientifically valid testing) goes against you, then just claim that the testers don't have a system with sufficient resolution...
How can power cords make a difference? Albert -Thanks for setting this up; I'll contact you separately with the details. It'll be interesting and educational; of course, I run the fairly high risk of ridicule from one side or the other depending on the findings. Either I'll be accused ...
How can power cords make a difference? Albert, Jadem6 -OK, I'll bite. Could you two get together and figure out, say, 2 cords the most likely to differ from stock? I'm willing to listen to them, first sighted and then blind, and will report back the results (and return the PCs, maybe ....
What Are Your Audio Morals? Fpeel -You got me to go back and read your original post. For the life of me, I can't figure out why anyone would rate it negative. Then again, I've gotten "-2,-2" for mentioning that I'd be in LA soon and would enjoy meeting to audition power cor... |
