Cleaning LP...how much fluid is enough/too much? Hi, I use about 10-15 drops of the super cleaner...use a carbon fiber brush to spread around...vacumn 2 rev's.Then I partially saturate a disc doctor brush with the wash, go around once using the motor. scrub back and forth (with the grooves) once...
Is there advantage to balanced phono-preamp I've heard many differing opinions on this. All I can say, is with my BAT VKP10SE, which has a balanced input section, using a din to XLR cable gives a quieter, more deatailed presentation than a din to RCA tonarm cable. For me and my setup, it hel...
Do CJ's amps project a "V" shaped soundstage? how do you have your virgo's setup? Did you use the recommended positioning here?http://www.audiophysic.de/info/aufstellung/e_index.htmlRoom interaction can also effect this. Some treatments might be appropriate...slap echo's can kill some imaging...
Suspended Basis vs Nonsuspended Teres glad someone else loves my sme 20. however, when I place it on a symposium ultra shelf, it get's much quieter...more detail. something is still getting in...or not getting out with out this "added". maybe it's better than the rest...but those are ...
Long wall or short wall Audio Physics is also a big proponent of long wall placement. I had my Virgo's placed this way years ago. Now I have my Watt/Puppy's in pretty much the same config. Check out my pics in systems.FYI: http://www.audiophysic.de/info/aufstellung/e_ind...
Which fluid should I use Taters...I use the super deep clean first, then the wash. And yes, I use separate wands for vacuming and separate brushes for clean vs wash...
Which fluid should I use I've used both. Still own both. There are some differences. I use them on a vpi 16.5 with the disc dr brushes...like you seem to be.Disc Dr-Takes 3 cycles for me. One with the cleaning solution diluted. some scrubing like they recommend. 2 rinses ...
seems like static Is this tube /pre/amp? If so, sounds like you have a tube going bad. Take the tubes from the right side and put in the left. If the static moves channels...then it's a tube.I'm sorry I can't narrow it down to a specific tube without knowing more a...
Is tube "thunder" power related? maybe...however, shipping may have also damaged the tubes...shook em up to much and they are failing....
Tweeks for the Wadia 850 GNS has a great repuation. I used to own a 850. Try various isolation, I loved a Symposium svelte shelf and rollerblocks. Also a great power cord like the kimber palladian or Trans ref xl.One final thing, are u using disc treatments like Auric Ill...
Clean power & ground issue? I'd call a electrician and run a dedicated ground and a sep line for your audio. He can also fix the grounding issue for the rest of the house. You might have a fire/electrocution hazzard right now...
BAT VK-60 Mono Blocks or VK-75 Stereo I think the advice above is sound. I've owned a vk60 and now have a vk75se. Using Watt/Puppy 6's. I've never felt like I needed more power. However, the 75se is a much better sounding amp. Much superior bass, more top end extension, better dynamic...
Acoustic Sounds 45's Jazz series The Cannonball Adderly is amazing. Also have the Evans Waltz for Debby...my surfaces are pristine, no noise. I have cleaned them using Record Research fluid and a VPI vacumn...

MFG's for cable burn in units? do a search on this. several dealers will do it for you for a nominal fee. i emailed a dealer, and he only wanted $25 / pair of cables...not a bad deal. Sorry, I can't remember the dealers name! |
