Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
yes, jl35 that is true.  When you change the direction of the cables all the old signals still use to going in the old direction collide with the new signals going in the new direction.  Well, you get it, its a bloody mess.

benlzy, I would not feel comfortable with my amp if everyone else reported cool running and mine was very hot, regardless of ambient temperature.  Might need something adjusted.

inna ""Sensitive hearing" is a talent, an art form."  Its funny how backgrounds differ, respectfully submitted, just naturally I would not consider it a positive.  And of course this is coming from someone without it.

I believe, but am not sure, that you can buy inexpensive connectors to attach your bigger spades/bananas to and then you attach the connectors smaller spades to your amp.

Michael, I believe I understand what you are writing, but maybe not.  Several times I have been tempted to start a thread inquiring if anyone else has ever had or experienced systems, as I have, in the 60's and 70's, where the mid level components... 
DO CABLES REALLY MATTER?
Once you understand the science you will realize that music signals have a protective membrane surrounding and protecting them. So the wire itself that they are travelling down can only have a imperceptible impact on the sonics.
