Luxman 590AX II Break-In @tennisdoc56 I think I am experiencing the same thing you have! I know many have stated that room size has an effect, but I heard a pair of KEF LS 50's on the Luxman 20 W Class A in the same size room as mine, and the bass was jaw-dropping for a...
Luxman 590AX II Break-In @erik_squires Thanks, great advice. I am currently 1ft. from the rear walls with a slight toe-in. I am still questioning the break-in time. Many have stated at least 300 hrs. Also, the KEFs are brand new and need some time. Right now, this is no...
Luxman 590AX II Break-In Kef Reference 1 Meta speakers, Aries Cerat Helene DAC, Einstein Last Record Player CD player feeding DAC. I'm awaiting an Innuos Pulsar. Room is a converted mill building with drywall and exposed wood ceiling 16x18. Music is lifeless right now.
Endgame Vocal+ DAC Help: Terminator Plus 12th vs. Chord DAVE vs. Holo May vs. Weiss502. @nlynchard The DAVE is good, but there are many others out there that are better. Please check out the Aries Cerat line of DACs. These are end-game products. I read an interesting thread in another forum that many have upgraded from DAVE to Arie...
Innuos PULSE Mini? I do not believe they are shipping yet! I got my eye on a Pulsar and word is that they will not ship until December.
Switched to Reimyo 777 dac/Lumin streamer and great experience with Audio Archon +1 for Mike Kay @ AA. Truly a professional!
Looking at best option for 20-25k for DAC Streamer combo I would purchase separates in that price range. As for a DAC, look into the Aries Cerat line (Helene or Kassandra II). Their build/design philosophy is far different from the pack. Pair this with a nice streamer; you are good for ten years!
Shipping 80lb amps. Ship on a pallet! I shipped an 85 lb amp via FedEx. It arrived at the buyer with a circuit board detached along with a capacitor. The box was intact with no damage. I guaranteed it was dropped to sustain that much damage.
Is there such a thing as a FOREVER DAC/streamer? Check out Aries Cerat or even AudioNote. Should provide many years of enjoyment! The Aries Cerat products have a very unique design.
Opinions: Martin Logan Renaissance 15a vs. Bowers & Wilkins 800D3 @farne230 The Rotel Michi M8 monoblocks would be glorious and easily compete with the McIntosh. The B&W's need current to tame those big woofers. When I had a pair of 802d3s, my dealer recommended the Michi series over the Luxman M900u; he s...
Where to go from here? @davekuyt11 McIntosh MA 12000, use the internal DAC fed by a Lumin U2 Mini. This setup will keep you happy for many years. Save up and then go nuts on a reference DAC.
Building a 2-channel audio system using Bowers & Wilson 800D3 speakers @farne230 I had a pair of 802 D3s powered by a CODA 16. Very nice pairing, but the CODA was a tad too neutral (I prefer a little more warmth). The CODA has tremendous power reserves and easily tamed the bass of the B&Ws. I didn't audition bu...
Luxman vs Hegal @jjss49 You win!! No amplifier in the world other than Hegel will drive a 3-ohm load. This is a "cake-walk" for a Luxman. Measurements are just that, only a small metric that may or may not contribute to listening pleasure. The ears are the ulti...
Luxman vs Hegal @michobr59 The Luxman M10X, M900U, 507Z, and 509X can power any speaker in production. Do not be fooled by the limited power specifications. Luxman's 100 watts is the equivalent of many's 200W amplifiers. Luxman excels in current delivery and dr...
Luxman vs Hegal @michobr59 I am going to call an audible and attract you to an alternative. When I was in the market to upgrade a source for my B&W 802D3s, my dealer recommended the Rotel Michi line. I had money in hand to buy the Luxman separates (which I ... |
